Programmable or Non-Programmable

Programmable
Programmable thermostats allow you to setup a heating/cooling schedule that the thermostat will automatically follow. This scheduling ability makes programmable thermostats very energy efficient. Some of the different scheduling options are:

• 7 Day - this means you can set a different schedule for each day of the week.
• 5+1+1 - this means you can set a schedule for Monday - Friday (5), a schedule for Saturday (+1) and a schedule for Sunday (+1).
• 5+2 - this means you can set a schedule for Monday - Friday (5), and another schedule for Saturday and Sunday (+2).
• 24 Hour - this means you can set a 1-day schedule that is used every day of the week.

Non-Programmable
Non-Programmable thermostats do not have any scheduling capabilities. You control temperature by manually setting the setpoint, and by manually putting the system into heating or cooling mode.
