We rent so had no choice about brand of furnace the landlord replaced the old one with. Hated the filter that came with it (Merv 4). Store bought ones don't fit. These filters fit perfectly and are Merv 11 (a must have when you have pets). I will definity buy these again and have recommended them to others I know with a Carrier furnace.

I own a common major brand HVAC system. It uses a very odd size of filter (16 3/8 x 21 1/2 x 1). Locally, I can only find these at the local HVAC supply dealer, for about $10 a filter. I ordered a case of these on the off chance they would work in my HVAC, and to my pleasant surprise, they do! Unfortunately, I still cannot find this much more common size at any local retailer however, with the cost of them on this site plus shipping, it still came in at well under $10 a filter. The packaging also claims you can use these filters for 90 days. The locally purchased ones were recommended for 30 days. Not sure I would keep a filter in for 90 days but, the option is there.
