The local contractor wanted $800.00 to sell and install this unit. I needed a wireless because the builder installed the Thermostat on an inside garage wall and the temperature varied by 3-10 degrees. To relocate the T-stat would have meant holes in the walls and wire pulling, probaly 3-5 hours labor. I was done in about 30 minutes, for under $250.00, and it works great!

The builder's of our home didn't place the thermostats in the best locations. My summer bill sky rocketed the first summer I was in the house. We had no trouble moving the upstairs thermostat but the downstairs would have required a professional and a lot of wall repair. I have used the wireless thermostat the last three months and it has met all my expectations. The biggest problem we had was the temp in our downstairs bedroom. It might not be the ideal place to put a thermostat but so far it has worked great. Plus, we can just move it to another room if we decide. The flexibility in finding the right spot makes it worth it.

Had we realized the builder was putting the orginal thermostat where I would want my favorite chair, the new thermostat (now correctly located in a common hallway) wouldn't have been needed. While I was a bit reluctant to install this on my own, a brief call to ProThermostats answered all my questions and even warned me to look for the correct connections on the furnace. It couldn't have taken more than 45 minutes to get it installed and programed. Nice looking unit and spot on accurate. Couldn't be happier (unless it were half price, of course.)
