By Bill from Dayton, Ohio Comments about Aprilaire Tune-Up Kit for Model 560/560A Humidifier: There is no instruction sheet inside the box, so I went to the internet to find the instructions. After the project was done, I discovered the instructions on the back of the evaporator box. When I removed the supply-side tube, I found there was no inline strainer. Installing the strainer from the kit seemed to allow for better regulation of the water flow.The instructions show the supply tube end with the yellow orifice going into the outlet side of the solenoid. That seems to work. One internet site showed the orifice-end going into the nozzle.As installed, my outlet tube was about 12 feet of pvc pipe with 2 90-degree turns on the floor. It had clogged with scale, and no amount of vinegar would clear it. I bypassed the pvc with metal-reinforced plastic tubing [...] held onto the furnace with pipe clamps and cable ties to the old pvc pipe.
