Comments about Fantech RSK4 Spring Loaded Backdraft Damper for 4" Duct: Well made product, however contrary to what some have written the springs are too weak to overcome the weight of the doors. This product must be mounted vertically so that gravity may assist the spring in closing the doors. The manual that came enclosed with this product also confirms this Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (5 of 5 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Cons Best Uses Comments about Fantech RSK4 Spring Loaded Backdraft Damper for 4" Duct: I recently replaced my bathroom fan in my master bathroom which has sloped vaulted ceilings. Well the "flapper" damper never fully closed due to the slope and constantly slapped itself around on windy nights keeping me and the wife up. Bought this damper and so far it works great. I did however crazy glue 2 rubber grommets to "weigh down" the flapper. The flappers are rather thin and my fan has no problem keeping the damper open with the extra weight (I tested it in the attic).
