Ventilate Multiple Areas with Just One Fan Panasonic WhisperLineT fans are designed for multiple-task ventilation. This means that you can ventilate multiple areas or multiple rooms with just one fan. For example, you can place inlets over the shower, tub, toilet and/or vanity in a single bathroom and still use just one fan. In recent years, homes have become more airtight and energy efficient. While this lowers the cost to heat and air-condition a home, it also retains pollutants that can be hazardous to its occupants. One way to improve the air quality of the home is through whole-house ventilation with a Panasonic WhisperLineT fan, which removes "stale" air and provides fresh air on a slow, continuous basis.
So Quiet You Might Not Know it's On WhisperWarmT fans feature a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. A small wheel turning very fast will create more noise than a large wheel turning more slowly for a given airflow. Our fan uses a wide blower wheel that moves a large amount of air at reduced RPMs. The blower wheel is also designed to draw air in from both sides, which helps keep the noise down, as there is more area for the air to enter the wheel. In fact, it is quiet enough that you might not even know it's on.
Easy Installation This in-line fan can be installed in five different positions and joist, truss and suspension brackets are included to help make your installation as easy as possible.
Continuous, Trouble-free Operation for Many Years This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years thanks in part to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. Also, since heat is always detrimental to motor life (the cooler the environment, the longer the motor will last), we designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. And, the fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust.
Energy StarŽ Qualified for Energy Savings Energy Star qualified products feature super-quiet operation and high CFM-to-Watt efficiency. The Energy Star program was created to help consumers identify products that can save them money and protect the environment by saving energy. As an Energy Star partner, all our fans are Energy Star qualified and labeled accordingly.
Comments about Panasonic WhisperLine Inline Ventilation Fan FV-20NLF1:
The bean counters have been at it again. Panasonic is using thinner sheet metal on the housing. The stranded electrical wire connection is super small which makes it difficult to secure with an electrical wire nut.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperLine Inline Ventilation Fan FV-20NLF1:
This fan replaced two noisy fans (with 3") ducts in two bathrooms. The Panasonic fan pulls a strong draft in both rooms when on since it is a bit oversized for the two rooms. Extremely quiet, especially with the insulated 6" flex duct -- it really can not be heard.
One caution: We were in the process of installing it in an attic that was to have 15" of blown insulation. A small note in the instructions mentioned to check/clean out the fan about once a year. Glad we noticed this before installing. We made a special mounting frame for the fan near the attic opening to allow inspection without needing to get into the attic.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperLine Inline Ventilation Fan FV-20NLF1:
Bought this fan to replace an old Nutone fan that was not getting the moisture out of the bathroom. The old Nutone was a 4" 2 light/fan combo with a large footprint. Instead of dealing with ceiling dry wall patching work, I ripped out the old fan guts out of the Nutone and hooked the 4" Nutone exhaust to the Panasonic inline fan (using a 4 to 6 converter). I was worried about not getting enough air flow through the old fan but everything is working well. The Panasonic inline fan easily pulls all moist air out of our bathroom (110 sq ft) and we didn't have to do any major ceiling work. Getting the most air out of our master bath quickly has also resolved a condensation problem we used to have on our master bedroom windows. Very happy.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperLine Inline Ventilation Fan FV-20NLF1:
I hired somebody to install this along with a few other projects I had going on. I really like the new fan -- it's much quieter than my 20 year old builder model -- and this does a much better job of circulating the air.
Previosuly I had 3 inch exhause pipes. Replacing those with 6 inch pipes was easy but the new 6 inch aluminum duct pipes amplify the noise a bit (prior to connecting the duct I couldn't hear the fan at all).

Comments about Panasonic WhisperLine Inline Ventilation Fan FV-20NLF1:
I'm using this fan to pull air from two bathrooms. Rather than install new grates, I pulled the 'guts' out of the cheap old exhaust fans and connected 4" insulated flex duct to each old unit. The two 4" ducts run to a 4/4/6 wye, then 6" insulated duct leads to the fan which then leads to a 6" roof cap.Mounting the fan unit was very straightforward. There are a number of brackets supplied and I lucked out by being able to use the easiest mounting method. But I'm sure any of the mounting alternatives would have been fine.Instructions were very good too. The only slight negative I encountered - and boy is this slight - was my impression that the wires on the unit seemed a tad undersized. But this is just an impression and I'm sure the wires can handle the load. What the thinner wires prompted me to do was to run the wiring from each of the bathroom switches to a junction box, then run one 2-connector wire (OK, 3 with ground - you know what I mean) out of the junction box and to the unit. This made connecting the wiring to the unit's wires easier. The nice thing about the smaller ducts pulling air thru the old grates is that we can just faintly hear the sound of air moving. Why is this good? Well, now we don't leave the fan on accidentally! Still a very quiet system. All the components arrived well packaged, and at the end of a long day in the attic I was very happy with the quality of all the components supplied by BFE. Great stuff, great prices, [...]!

Product is well made. Lots of flexibility with respect to installation. Electrical access is good. Unit is very quiet. I am using a 6" duct to multiple locations. Air movement is very good. Unit is so quiet you might want to consider using a timer switch as you might forget to turn it off.

Remote blower with two trim kits used in commercial bath. Arranged back to back. I love all Panasonic products. They used to be very expensive but have recently become competitive. I have always used them regardless of price, they are truly superior. The last one I installed pulled something like 200 cfm and I could'nt hear it run a foot away!

Comments about Panasonic WhisperLine Inline Ventilation Fan FV-20NLF1:
I have an antique colonial home with a forced hot air furnace, a wood stove, and a fireplace. I have no shortage of heat but, because of the build and layout of my house, it is a challenge moving the warm air to where it is needed. As a transfer fan this product works perfectly moving alot of warm air discreetly and efficiently. This fan has worked so well that I haven't turned my furnace on yet.(Knock wood) The only way to improve it would be to add a variable speed feature. I was going to put it on a rheostat/dimmer but, the manual says not to. I'm going to try a timer but,I'd like to more easily be able to control the speed/output. The overall is that this is a great product and I will be getting more.
