So Quiet You Might Not Know it's On Whisper-LiteT fans feature a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. A small wheel turning very fast will create more noise than a large wheel turning more slowly for a given airflow. Our fan uses a wide blower wheel that moves a large amount of air at reduced RPMs. The blower wheel is also designed to draw air in from both sides, which helps keep the noise down, as there is more area for the air to enter the wheel. In fact, it is quiet enough that you might not even know it's on.
Continuous, Trouble-free Operation for Many Years This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years thanks in part to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. Also, since heat is always detrimental to motor life (the cooler the environment, the longer the motor will last), we designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. And, the fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust.
User-Friendly Installation Detachable adaptors, firmly secured duct ends, adjustable mounting brackets (up to 26"), fan/motor units that detach easily from the housing and uncomplicated wiring all lend themselves to user-friendly installation. This model also features a double-hanger bar system for ideal positioning.

Loose fill or batt insulation can be placed directly over the fan housing to prevent heat from escaping.

I installed this product in a lower level bath and had no access overhead. As a result I had to cut the hole about 2 inches bigger and complete the job with new wallboard with tape & mudding. It does work well and very quiet. I would install another without a second thought. It was worth the money!

Much better than any bathroom vent fan you can buy at a big-box retailer.
Our installation was more difficult only because it was being done in a 40 year old home replacing an existing light fixture and having to crawl in the attic and ceiling joists to mount the fan and duct to the outdoors through the soffit. Thankfully my oldest son did all of the grunt work. We couldn't be more pleased with the result. After only three weeks of use we no longer have to worry about mildew on our bathroom ceiling.

In 25 years of installing bathroom fans I have never installed one as well designed for new or old constuction. It is also the quietest fan I have ever even not heard.I refer all my customers to buy this fan. I have even bought this fan for my own house to replace my noisy one that was only a few years old.

I installed it in my mom's bathroom. I have to say this unit is GREAT. Very quiet. Very well made. Standard Japanese high quality. Forget that Home Depot brand.
My mother didn't think we needed the night light, but now uses it all the time.
The installation instructions were a bit confusing, for me at least. Much cross-referencing "...continue from step 6 on page 8...". For the mounting of the unit I had to improvise to fit it within the 80 year old house's dimensions. Can't blame Panasonic for the hard install. Plaster ceiling and tight dimensions for the exhaust tubing. Due to sharp bends I went with 4" steel tubing instead of flexible insulated hose.
If you need to cut a 4-1/4" hole to the outside of your house for the vent, take my advice: buy the 4-1/4" hole saw for $30. It would have saved me a lot of time.

We recently remodeled our master bathroom and didn't have an existing bathroom fan - only a light. We had a terrible issue with moisture on the walls which was leaving water stains, etc. NOW - with this new fan/light installed the problem is gone! This fan/light is awesome! It is so quiet! Highly recommend Panasonic!!
