So Quiet You Might Not Know it's On This WhisperCeilingT model features a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. A small wheel turning very fast will create more noise than a large wheel turning more slowly for a given airflow. Our fan uses a wide blower wheel that moves a large amount of air at reduced RPMs. The blower wheel is also designed to draw air in from both sides, which helps keep the noise down, as there is more area for the air to enter the wheel. In fact, it is quiet enough that you might not even know it's on.
Continuous, Trouble-free Operation for Many Years This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years thanks in part to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. Also, since heat is always detrimental to motor life (the cooler the environment, the longer the motor will last), we designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. And, the fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust.
User-Friendly Installation Detachable adaptors, firmly secured duct ends, adjustable mounting brackets (up to 26"), fan/motor units that detach easily from the housing and uncomplicated wiring all lend themselves to user-friendly installation. This model also features a double-hanger bar system for ideal positioning.
Energy StarŽ Qualified for Energy Savings Energy Star qualified products feature super-quiet operation and high CFM-to-Watt efficiency. The Energy Star program was created to help consumers identify products that can save them money and protect the environment by saving energy. As an Energy Star partner, all our fans are Energy Star qualified and labeled accordingly.
Tired of Cold Air Coming Through Your Ventilation Fan? This Panasonic fan has a built-in damper to prevent backdraft, which helps to prevent outside air from coming through the fan. Also, thanks to our efficient, cool running motors and fluorescent bulbs, it does not create excessive heat-a common problem with recessed lighting fixtures and some competitors' fan/light combinations. Loose fill or batt insulation can be placed directly over the fan housing to prevent heat from escaping.

This seems like it'll work fine in our new bath, which is half built. You can definitely hear it, but it's not annoying. I ordered the size for 140 square feet, altho the room is only 103, because I want it to take out all the moisture. Smaller ones are .3 sones and presumably quieter.

I recently purchased two of these fans for the bathrooms in our new home. They are very quite and we have never had a bit of moisture on our windows. When one developed a noise after 2-years the company exchanged it with no questions asked.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-15VQ4:
I believe bigger is better. This fan is twice the size I needed, but we have a busy main bathroom and I wanted the moist air gone. It was very effective and very quiet as well. After shopping the big box stores and not finding what I wanted I roamed the net. This website had plenty of options and all the technical info about the product for me to make my decision. *Something to remember about exaust fans, they need to get air to move it. If your door is sealed off when closed you should trim the bottom so the fan can move air. No air in, no air out!

I use this product to pull heat from a room where we have no A/C but a lot of equipment running 24/7. When my other fan dies I will put another one in since they are so quiet.

Large Bathrooms
Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-15VQ4:
I purchased two of these to get the humidity out of our bathroom that has a huge steam shower. It was cruicial for me for them to be whisper quiet because my wife gets up early in the morning and the old fan used to wake up everyone due to the design of the ceiling. The previous Broan fan, despite being pretty strong, could not keep up plus the automatic humidity detection died. Installing two of these is probably overkill, now that we're running them we realize how powerful they are. The shower glass is not even steaming up much anymore and you can almost feel a cold draft when they are running.
Not really a con, but keep in mind that these have 6" fittings, which it was a bit tricky to find proper hoses and outlets for. There is the option of using an adapter to go down to a more common size, but you will instantly get significantly more noise from the unit. Using proper 6" they are virtually silent.
Service and delivery comments:
I ordered two of these and they shipped the same day and arrived promptly in excellent condition via UPS.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-15VQ4:
I put this fan in my basement home theater room (14 x 20) for ventilation and it works great. I cannot hear it when a show is playing and can barely even hear it when nothing is on. It provides a slow steady draft of fresh air into the room- which I really needed when several people are in it.
