We have dogs and cats and know this filter is at the top of the market for price and effectiveness.
Then you have the support of the supplier with e-mails to remind us to change the filter.. who doesn't get so busy we forget to check the filter.. I am confident the reminders have added years to our central A/C and saved us money.

This is the first time we've had to replace the filter since we finished our home. The first filter lasted about 8 months, and is located in the larger or our two AC air handlers. They do an excellent job of filtering the air. Installing them is a two person job, but easy nontheless.

This collapsable filter is the same as the one that came from Trane, if you kept the original plastic frame. It is not available from my a/c contactor and not available at the "big box" home improvement stores. It is great to find a supplier who offers this filter at such a reasonable price, half what I paid for the ones in the cardboard frame box. A word of caution: watch out for the small aluminum points at the ends of the filter material - several bleeding fingers after the first time I installed it. [...]
