The directions for installation were well written. The thermostat works as intended. I went with Honeywell because they are a proven name in long term thermostat operation. I purchased this thermostat because I wanted a touch screen unit. The only operating function that could be improved is the vacation mode. My other thermostat has a single button for vacation mode, while the Vision Pro 8000 has a program to set the time to turn the furnace back on before you return home. Also, it was not as noisy as a couple of reviewers stated. My bedroom is across the hall from the thermostat and we do not find the relay noise to be loud.

very complex unit. Others have said how easy it is to install and program. We are intelligent people but had to call an AC tech to install and program it, very confusing. Variable, you can do just about anything with it that you can think of.

I know little to nothing about electrical systems, or how A/C and heater systems work...The install was very easy and took me about 15 minutes for two units. The programming is a bit tricky but so far i=they seem to be working much better than my old units. It seems as though the temperature in my home is much more consistent than it was before

I have three of these in my home and recently added one to a rental property. They work very well. My only complaint is that the unit makes audible "clicks" when the fan and/or compressor cycles. Use of this unit in a bedroom will bother a light sleeper. I built a hinged, decorative acoustical cover for mine and solved the problem.

I had been wanting this thermostat and found it for a great price on prothermostats.com. I couldn't be more happy. It was easy to install and only took about 45 min, including programming it. I am not especially mechanically inclined and I am a female. You do not need professional installation if you can read, know how to use a screwdriver, and can flip a breaker. This thermostat is amazing and can do it all. It even has a temperature display offset so you can make it read +/- 3 degrees off. This is helpful because my hallway w/ the thermostat is a couple of degrees hotter than the rest of the house. This thing is awesome and I am very happy. I will definitely be doing business with this site again in the future.
