use for wireless thermostat. When disconnected batteries for thermostat does't hold programming or when plugged in the same. So much for moving thermostat room to room if needed. No tech. Support. best to use batteries only and reset progrming when new batteries needed.

It is nice to be battery free. For some reason it reset the control unit, even with a battery in the unit, but that was not a significant hardship and it is worth being battery free. I have not had a power outage yet to see if it gracefully handles that.
