Totaline Remote Room Sensor w/ Override Button (P474-0401)

The remote indoor temperature sensor with override button offers the user ability to change to Occupied mode for after hours heating or cooling. It will measure indoor-air temperature at a remote location from the thermostat. It is a digital sensor designed for use with Venstar thermostats. It can be used with the Totaline Models P374-1700, P374-1800, P374-1900, P374-2700, P374-2800, P374-2900 and Venstar model T1700, T1800, T1900, T2700 and T2900 thermostats.

The sensor will sense room temperature where it is installed.  Depending on which thermostat it is connected to - the P474-0401 can be used either as a read-only sensor, a "control-to" sensor, or averaging sensor.  See thermostat specifications for details.  White lead connects to RS1 terminal on thermostat.

Wiring Requirements - The remote temperature sensor wiring has the following requirements:
1. All system wiring must be in compliance with all applicable local and national codes.
2. All sensor wiring should be color coded for ease of maintenance and service. Three wires are required.
3. All wiring should be 18, 20-, or 22-gage, unshielded wire. The maximum distance between the sensor to the thermostat for 18-gage wire is 150 feet. The maximum distance between the sensor to the thermostat for 20-gage wire is 300 feet. The maximum distance between the sensor to the thermostat for 22-gage wire is 450 feet.

NOTE: Thinner wire is used for longer distances.
