So Quiet You Might Not Know it's On This WhisperCeilingT model features a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. A small wheel turning very fast will create more noise than a large wheel turning more slowly for a given airflow. Our fan uses a wide blower wheel that moves a large amount of air at reduced RPMs. The blower wheel is also designed to draw air in from both sides, which helps keep the noise down, as there is more area for the air to enter the wheel. In fact, it is quiet enough that you might not even know it's on.
Continuous, Trouble-free Operation for Many Years This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years thanks in part to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. Also, since heat is always detrimental to motor life (the cooler the environment, the longer the motor will last), we designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. And, the fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust.
User-Friendly Installation Detachable adaptors, firmly secured duct ends, adjustable mounting brackets (up to 26"), fan/motor units that detach easily from the housing and uncomplicated wiring all lend themselves to user-friendly installation. This model also features a double-hanger bar system for ideal positioning.
Energy StarŪ Qualified for Energy Savings Energy Star qualified products feature super-quiet operation and high CFM-to-Watt efficiency. The Energy Star program was created to help consumers identify products that can save them money and protect the environment by saving energy. As an Energy Star partner, all our fans are Energy Star qualified and labeled accordingly.
Tired of Cold Air Coming Through Your Ventilation Fan? This Panasonic fan has a built-in damper to prevent backdraft, which helps to prevent outside air from coming through the fan. Also, thanks to our efficient, cool running motors and fluorescent bulbs, it does not create excessive heat-a common problem with recessed lighting fixtures and some competitors' fan/light combinations. Loose fill or batt insulation can be placed directly over the fan housing to prevent heat from escaping.
Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
I bought this fan to correct a problem with condensation dripping from the old exhaust fan in the master bathroom shower. Matching the fan with insulated ductwork solved the problem.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
I bought three of this, for the builder grade replacement in two of my half bath and the small upstairs bath, at 290cfm this thing moved alot of air, and very quiet, must pull 6" duct for retrofit, expensive, but well worth every pennies. I love this fan, wish I could have this thing when they build our home. Just buy it, it a must have for small and half bath. You only need to turn it on, when you need it, and turn it off when you done, no need to leave it on for 15-30mins to vent, that how powerful this thing was, a warning though, it will cause your heat/ac running more, if you leave this fan run, unattended, because it so powerful. recommended only use if needed.

Installed it in my renovated basement for use behind my bar for the occasional cigar. Works great! No smell in the morning, which is why I got the more powerful fan.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
Removes moisture and odors quickly from large bathroom (140 sf) and walk-in closet (90 sf) combination room, enough negative draw to actually pull open bathroom door. It is a little louder than I'd like, but understandable and acceptable.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
Panasonic is one of the best exhaust fans for the bathroom. The installation instructions are extremely poor. I had to search the Internet on how to really install this item. I've installed dozens of other brands but for the average Do-It-Yourselfer, the instructions on this one will leave you scratching your head.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
I wanted a more powerful fan for my average-sized bathroom because in the new house I don't want ANY more mold/mildew headaches. Sure, it's technically way oversized for my bathroom, but I'm glad to deal with the consequences, i.e. leaving door open a crack, cool outside air flowing in (I live in central coast CA, so it's never truly cold here). It's surprisingly quiet. May require professional installation (i.e. drywall work) as it's larger than standard-sized models plus may require building a frame/header to fit between the studs.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
This fan is great! It sucks so much air and is really quiet. It was a little tough to install and the directions are not that clear (make the box longer than stated, so it will slip in, as opposed to trying to force it while on ladder 18 feet in the air) but with some more cutting of drywall and plastering after, it did fit. This fan clears a large bathroom of all of the steam in minutes. Does use 6 inch pipe which is a little hard to deal with.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
Ceiling exhaust fan in our master bath died a long anticipated death so we needed a replacement. Settled on this unit and have been very pleased. It is not quite as quiet installed as we had expected/hoped, but the noise is not in fact excessive or obnoxious -- clearly superior to its predecessor. Moves about 6x as much air as its predecessor too, so we have happily said goodbye to the accidental sauna that resulted whenever we took a shower. I highly recommend this unit.

Comments about Panasonic WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan FV-30VQ3:
- This fan does move a lot of air but I think it is louder than 2.0 sones. - The noise sounds mostly like air flow and not the motor itself. - I would say it is closer to 3.0 sones but I have not measured the sound level.
