So Quiet You Might Not Know it's On This WhisperCeilingT model features a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. A small wheel turning very fast will create more noise than a large wheel turning more slowly for a given airflow. Our fan uses a wide blower wheel that moves a large amount of air at reduced RPMs. The blower wheel is also designed to draw air in from both sides, which helps keep the noise down, as there is more area for the air to enter the wheel. In fact, it is quiet enough that you might not even know it's on.
Continuous, Trouble-free Operation for Many Years This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years thanks in part to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. Also, since heat is always detrimental to motor life (the cooler the environment, the longer the motor will last), we designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. And, the fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust.

Also, thanks to our efficient, cool running motors and fluorescent bulbs, it does not create excessive heat-a common problem with recessed lighting fixtures and some competitors' fan/light combinations. Loose fill or batt insulation can be placed directly over the fan housing to prevent heat from escaping.

Install is pretty easy, very helpful to have two people. One person mainly just to hold things and place and throw tools up to the other in the attic. I made the mistake of tackling this solo, so probably took a bit longer than it should.
As for the performance, it's amazing. Very quiet, and moves a ton of air. Our windows and mirrors no longer fog up, even after my wife's extremely long showers.
I'd give it 5 stars, but I've had some intermittent issues.. Not sure if something was stuck, but it was making a funny noise and then the fan would stop. Once it got going again it would be fine. It hasn't done it now for a couple of weeks so hoping it was just a fluke. If it happens again, I'll be contacting support for help.

We installed two of these fans, and I am really happy with the performance! Installation was straightforward, they install between any size rafter, even 2x4. No fog at all on the mirror now!
I used the insulated flexible 4" duct, and I highly recommend that. A 4" rigid duct is too large as the outlet is actually 3 7/8". The flexible fit tight.
It is best to use a rooftop damper. The damper at the fan doesnt seal tight, which is needed to dry out any moisture left in the hose. If you had two tight fitting dampers, with the fan off the hose would be sealed shut and never dry if wet.
I highly recommend these fans!

I purchased two of these units to replace inadequate fans in two adjacent bedrooms. I chose them primarily because of their low noise rating and higher air exchange rate. I was careful to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for type and size of ductwork, angles and direction of ducts, and proper sealing, and this made the installation challenging because existing ductwork was not adequate. The fan efficiency depends on the ductwork, however, so don't skimp there. Walking by the bathroom with the door open, we cannot detect if the fan is off or on. Inside the bathroom we can hear it, but barely. In a 6x10 foot room we can have four adults shower in a row with no vapor accumulation on the mirror. I highly recommend this fan.

It was easy to install. The product didn't disappoint, and the only con I have is the joist bracket's connection to the unit. I feel it would be better if the connectors were on both ends (same side) of the unit so the hangers were more sturdy.

I installed the fan in the bathroom to remover moisture. I was able to install the fan without entering the attic. That was great because access to my attic was limited. The fan is quiet and performs very well. I couldn't find any negative things to comment on. I love the fan so much I bought a second fan for the toilet area and will soon purchase another for the guest bathroom.
