I thought I could install this by myself. Got cold feet and called in the Pros. Glad I did. Just a little over my head. They came out and checked all the wiring, helped me set all the service settings. Gave me suggestions on what they should be. Now the system is tuned and up and running like never before. Highly recommend this thermostat for any homeowner. I use mine with a Trane 15i. Wonderful!! Thanks for all you helpful tutorials. They made the decision very easy.

I bought this thermostat because my home thermostat is in a small living room with a plasma TV. The TV warms the room enough that the heat would not kick on and the rest of the house was 4-6 degrees colder. I installed this thermostat myself and we put the remote in our babies room. It works perfectly keeping what ever room we have the remote in at the perfect temperature. It is an expensive unit, but worth every penny.

The Honeywell is a great thermostat. The display is large and easy to read in the sunlight and the controls are simple to use. Obvisiously the thermostat offers many features so read the manual. I thought the remote would be over-kill, but if you awake early and do not want to get out of bed to turn the heat up the remote is fantastic. This Thermostat system works wonderfully and pretty much does it all! If you have wiring already run then this is the one you need.Honeywell makes another model for WIRELESS applications.You DO need to connect a 24V COMMON wire to run this Thermostat.I love the fact that it indicates the indoor and outdoor humidity level as well as the temp.There are other options that can be controlled by this thermostat as well such as the RED LINK series wireless Humidifier.THe only thing I would like to see is more use of the High resolution screen.Possible screen saver type images that can be downloaded to the unit.

The configuration manual could use more detail about what the various settings mean. It isn't clear to me if the humidifier will operate in the cooling mode (important for arid areas of the country).

Amazing product. The remote that can act like another thermostat is great. I live in a townhouse and the upstairs is sometimes considerably hotter than the rest of the house. This remote allows me to adjust cycles based on the upstairs temp, where I am (instead of running up and down the steps to adjust it). It is also very simple to program, make adjustments, then menu guides you through. I wondered if I was crazy to spend this much money on a thermostat, but after install and using it for a few weeks I think it is worth every. single. penny.

We have a three story townhome, and walking from the bedroom (level 3) to my office (level 1) used to be like travelling from the tropics to the arctic. Honeywell has transformed our home into a temperate zone..automatically..24 hours a day..whichever level we're on. Temperature is consistent within 2 degrees..and with the remote, if I choose to be pampered I can have it my way whichever level I'm on. Couldn't ask for life to be better

I bought this unit to solve a problem with the location of the thermostat on our second floor. We have an open floor plan and the old thermostat was located in an open area above our 2 story family room, and it kept our heat pump system running all the time. I use one of the bedrooms as an office and sleep in one of the other ones at times. Before I got this unit it was either freezing or roasting in the rooms and I could never seem to find a good setting that worked with my wife setting our downstairs system. This unit allowed me to regulate the temperature of every room and has really solved the problem. I installed the unit myself in about an hour, including the outside thermostat. So far all is well, and hopefully the setup will work alright in the winter for heating as I had to guess about some of the wiring and setups for my existing system - my problem, not anything with the thermostat. Right now I am completely satisfied with this unit and enjoy the great display and the feedback I now have of outside temperature. The remote unit is really easy to use and I can now regulate the temperature to whatever I want, wherever I am on the second floor. I would highly recommend this unit and have thought about getting another one for our furnace for the first floor.
