Honeywell's TL8100 Hydronic Thermostat offers the energy savings of a programmable control for a wide variety of applications. It can be used to control 2-way zone valves, 3-way zone valves or circulator pumps in both line volt and low volt applications. It also offers special protection modes to prevent system seizures and to reduce callbacks.
The TL8100 works in the following Hydronic applications:
. Line volt circulators
. 24 volt circulator relays
. 24 volt zone valves
. 120 volt zone valves
Not only is the TL8100 great for valve and pump control, it also does much more!
. Electric heating up to 1200W@ 240V max.
. Millivolt systems (e.g., gas fireplaces)
. Gas, oil or electric systems
. Hot air system with no fan control

Comments about Honeywell TL8100 Programmable Hydronic Thermostat - Heat-Only:
This Honewell thermostat worked well with an inductive load for fans and pumps. Our installation included a recirc pump and a convective fan. Don't buy the Verdant line voltage thermostat for anything other than a purely resistive load. Actually, don't buy any Verdant products, they have no customer support and don't answer their phone. Buy the Honeywell instead. It's more flexible with installations.

Comments about Honeywell TL8100 Programmable Hydronic Thermostat - Heat-Only:
Overall performs fine, easy to install and set up and it looks nice in my mid-modern home. Only drawback is that you can only set one temperature for occupied periods and one temp for unoccupied periods. I would rather set one setpoint for early mornings, and a different one for evenings - which I can't do.

I have two thermostats, one line voltage and one low voltage. I wanted the same thermostat in both spots and this was it. Simplest installation possible, works great, looks great - these have been perfect.

Comments about Honeywell TL8100 Programmable Hydronic Thermostat - Heat-Only:
This was very easy to install, although I chose the conventional setting as I am using it to control a "smart pump" circulating hot water to radiators. This thermostat seems to have far nicer design features than the Lux models. Easy to read and It is also quite quiet with only an unobtrusive soft click as it switches. In addition I like the fact that it has a low battery indicator but since it is newly installed I have not seen that feature in operation.
