Installed unit in about 45mins from start of removing old unit to install of new unit.If you can program apps or numbers into a cellphone then this will be easy to install with the directions included.

This was for a custom project, not for normal household use. It works perfectly, I needed a programmable t-stat which could auto switch between heat and cool, which this one does. But to make the auto switching mode available you have to enter the installers service menu and enable it, it was not enabled by default. And it can run either from battery or the 24VAC which was nice because I wanted one which would operate on battery only. Good product!

The wiring diagram lacked detail. I had to wait to call support to find out which two terminals would support millivolt wiring. AHHHH I scoured everything I could find. All I wanted was a simple diagram telling me what the wiring would do (give me a contact closure). The wiring diagram treated me like a dummy. So as not to paint the proper picture, the unit is wonderful and works great. Honeywell needs to expose their diagrams so people can leverage their products better.

Your results may vary, but a welcome benefit I gained from installing a programmable thermostat was that now my furnace's blower comes on seconds after the gas lights (no pilot light). I've had several visits by apartment maintenance to look at the furnace. The heat exchanger and other parts were replaced, but still the blower would not come on 5, 10, 15 minutes after the gas lights, wasting gas, heating up only the ductwork, not blowing the air until I switched the fan from AUTO to ON. In hindsight, they should have replaced the thermostat, but would have only replaced it with another non-programmable unit.

I have 7 hvac units in a large showroom and offices. I have had the old manual thermostats for about 20 years because I tried to upgrade them years ago but apparently the technology wasn't there yet. I replaced all 7 myself. Very easy to install and set. They are working well and I'll never have to adjust them again.
