About the VisionPro IAQ Control: The VisionPro IAQ would install in place of your current thermostat and become the central control of all temperature, humidification, dehumidification, and ventilation products in your home. The VisionPro IAQ has about any bell or whistle you can imagine. It is comprised of a thermostat (looks just like a standard Honeywell VisionPro) and an Equipment Interface Module (EIM). The thermostat only requires 3 wires and is a very convenient retrofit for and older thermostat. It talks to the EIM, which is typically installed in the mechanical room with heating, cooling, humidification equipment.

The first unit we received was defective but iaqsource replaced it right away. The installation of the actual unit is simple but the electrical related to the thermostat changeout was extremely complicated. Our house is about 3900 SF and we have a bit of an unusual application. We have a photography collection which likes to see 50% RH year round which is a challenge. The manufacturer suggests maintaining 35% in the winter. We were unable to reach 50% so we have it set at 45% and it basically runs 24/7. Our power bill went up by almost $200 in a single month! It draws 12 amps and is basically like running a tea kettle day and night so it is not too surprising. We will probably only need it 3-4 months at this intensity. The product is well built and comes with good documentation. My experience with support at iaq was fantastic. They answered a ton of detailed questions and were very responsive. I would recommend this unit and this vendor.

The unit was fairly easy to install and other buyer comments were helpful in setting it up. I used a dedicated 20 amp circuit.
The Vision Pro IAQ Controller, while a bit pricey, is essential to ensure adequate humidity levels. It allows you to run the fan, even if there is no call for heat. Also for summer cooling season, there's a circulation mode that will be helpful in diminishing temperature variances for my three level townhome.
I'll chime in again after the winter season to express the additional electrical cost to run this unit.

Great system overall. I'd suggest getting the latest manual from honeywell for wiring (the manual could be better). The 12 gallon unit is appropriate in a very dry climate like ours in the foothills of CO even down to our 2800 sqft home. Honeywell sqft ratings are overly optimistic and a little laughable on the box. The IAQ sqft numbers are much more realistic.

The steam humidifier was easy to install and simple to operate. I upgraded to the Vision Pro IAQ system at the same time and that system is very user friendly and easy to control temperature and humidity. My house is large and it took a couple days to moderate humidity to the level I wanted but now it runs a reasonable amount of time. It is very efficient with water usage but does draw 1300 watts to create the steam.I did have an issue with the unit after 2 months of use. [...]

I received the humidifier quickly and the packing was very good. Thank you iaqsource.com. They answered a question I had almost immediatly via email as well. The unit installs easy enough but the instructions that you get with the product were a little confusing, but I am not a HVAC contractor so this was expected. I found a more simplistic instructions on the connections from the furnace to the EIM module and we had it up and running in no time. The efficiency of the unit remains to be seen as I have only had it installed for a week or so but seeing that it uses all of the water in the tank (minus the occasional flushing that it does on it's own) it has to be way more efficent than a bypass or power driven fan unit. I was lucky in that I had a copper valve in place to connect the water inlet from the humidifier to already but the saddle valve that is provided looks like it's a pretty easy thing to install (no sweating copper or cutting pipe needed). I am very happy with iaqsource and happy with the unit.
