The HM506VPIAQ 6-Gallon Model includes a VisionPRO IAQ Total Comfort System Control. The unit draws 7 Amps and can usually be installed using standard, shared power supply.
About the VisionPro IAQ Control: The VisionPro IAQ would install in place of your current thermostat and become the central control of all temperature, humidification, dehumidification, and ventilation products in your home. The VisionPro IAQ has about any bell or whistle you can imagine. It is comprised of a thermostat (looks just like a standard Honeywell VisionPro) and an Equipment Interface Module (EIM). The thermostat only requires 3 wires and is a very convenient retrofit for and older thermostat. It talks to the EIM, which is typically installed in the mechanical room with heating, cooling, humidification equipment.

Honeywell support is only useful if you need something simple like setting the time or date. Anything else they tell you to ask the installer. I asked simple questions reguarding the thermostat. What kind of support is that? I can read off the instruction sheet just as well as they can....

The TrueSTEAM 6 Gal humidifier was relatively easy to install with the 10'Remote kit. What was difficult was the multitude of conflicting wiring instructions. Each individual item (thermostat, remote mount installation, humidifier and Equipment Interface Module) all had separate, stand alone instructions. There was no integrated list of instructions for the "system". I found a separate set of instruction on the TrueSTEAM website that covered the interface wiring gaps between the separate parts. Big issue for me was finding instructions that told me where the 24V power supply (for the TrueSTEAM and various sensors) was to be obtained. I finally took it off the HVAC 24V sensor control panel along with the common circuit. Now everything works fine.

Before installing the IAQ thermostat, we could never get the temperature in the house to match the desired temperature that we set, now they are always the exact same. The addition of the TrueSteam humidifier has made a noticeable difference to the comfort of the air in the home as well.
