Fantech Single Point Bath Exhaust Kit (PB 110). This kit replaces the REG 100 and PB100
Do bathrooms fans have to sound like a wind tunnel to get the job done? The truth is, noisy bathroom exhaust fans lose much of their effectiveness, simply because people don't want to use them. So, odor, moisture, mold and mildew build up. Even the most elegant bathrooms become unattractive, and may suffer long-term damage.
Fantech bathroom exhaust fans are designed to operate quietly and effectively, so people actually use them. Yet their affordability means they're right for every bathroom-from simple to luxurious.
Requested by clients. Specified by designers.
You'll find Fantech bathroom exhaust fans specified on the blueprints of top architects and designers.
Why? Simple. They're quiet, efficient and reliable, and they're easy to install. Better still, Fantech offers a choice of interior and exterior mounted fans. So there's a Fantech bathroom exhaust fan for every situation.
This kit is for single point exhaust.
Includes: * 110 CFM Airtight Galvanized Steel Inline Fan * 6" Diameter Celing Grille * Grille Housing with Damper * (4) Hanger Bars * Fan Mounting Bracket
The PB 110 includes all basic components- the only additional elements required to complete the installation are flexible 4" ductwork and roof or side vent.
Grill housing: 6"L X 6"W X 5 1/2" H. Fits between 2x6 construction.
INSTALLATION TIPS
Locate vent as close as possible bath fixtures (toilet, showers, and hot tubs
Fantech recommends the use of insulated flexible duct for the exhaust system
Place at least 8 feet of duct between intake grill and fan (insulated flexible duct allows sound from the fan to dissapate gradually so that it can not be heard in the bathroom)
Comments about Fantech PB110 Premium Bath Fan Kit - 110 CFM:
Like the Fantech Products, just hope it can handle the 25 foot duct run from the center of the house to the vent in the roof.

Comments about Fantech PB110 Premium Bath Fan Kit - 110 CFM:
The fan is very quiet, you can only hear the air moving through the vent. The only negative is the backdraft damper makes an audible noise everytime there's a backdraft. A butterfly damper would eliminate that problem, otherwise a great fan kit.

Comments about Fantech PB110 Premium Bath Fan Kit - 110 CFM:
I've bought and installed bathroom fans from home improvement stores and had no problems except for noise and exhaust efficiency. This fan is in a whole other category. It is so quiet and moves so much more air. It was also easy to install. I did use the 4" insulated duct. Although it is more expensive, it is a difference worth spending. Do it right the first time!

Comments about Fantech PB110 Premium Bath Fan Kit - 110 CFM:
I'm renovating 2 bathrooms in our home. Read and heard good things about Fantech so gave them a try. They work as advertised. Extremely quiet and effective in moving hot/moist air out of the house. Timers highly recommended. Installation not bad, the mounting bracket should be redesigned to include an integrated strap.

2nd one I bought. These fan kits are great. I bought a home that was built in the 50's, no fans at all. These have been great. No noise and great cfm's moving thru. No steam build up. Buy the timer switch also. just set it and forget it.

Deceptively functional

Comments about Fantech PB110 Premium Bath Fan Kit - 110 CFM:
The bathroom this went into is half the recommended size. I don't care about over-ventilating, but I was afraid of a fan that would suck the shower curtain up so I stuck to 110 CFM. I had two vents installed, one in the shower, one over the toilet. When I first turned on the fan I could barely feel anything being sucked through the vents and I regretted not getting a bigger one. Then I took a shower and there was no condensation on the mirror at all. Before we had only a fan over the toilet and it did nothing.
The fan is quiet. However, if you rigidly mount it, you will still hear/feel it. The airflow of this guy through two vents is absolutely silent, and I suspect it would still be so with only one intake. Ours is rigidly mounted and you can barely hear it. If you are a freak for silence you may want to hang it from steel cables/industrial bungees. It has a pretty soft start so I doubt this would be a problem.
If you do that, make sure you get a timer switch or other automatic controller because you'll never know it's on.

Comments about Fantech PB110 Premium Bath Fan Kit - 110 CFM:
Installed in between floor joists about 5 or 6 feet from cellar bathroom. Incredibly easy to install/connect, very quite (virtually cannot hear in the bathroom; and very quiet standing right below the unit in the utility area where I installed it. Wish I had used this fan in my attic instead of the usual type of unit in each bath.
