This line-voltage dehmidistat can control a dehumidifier or an exhaust fan based on the moisture level in a room. This two-wire surface mount wall control allows the humidity setting to be adjusted from 20 to 80 percent relative humidity, with an 8 percent maximum relative humidity differential. It can be installed over its own electrical box.

I use this unit to control a duct fan in our basement. Rather then spend over a $1000 for a unit to control the humidity in the basement, I built one for less than $100. So far it is working.

We are using this device to control a fan to circulate air near a peak in a high ceiling, where humidity builds up on sunny days. We would like to be able to control the difference between the humidity where the device switches on (say 52%) and the humidity where the device switches off (which seems to be about 8 % lower). We are having trouble getting the fan operating enough to solve the humidity buildup but not have it run continuously. This is a unique problem and probably not what the device was designed to do, but is the reason for our lukewarm review of the product. Other than that, it seems to work as advertised.
