It does seem to improve the indoor quality of the air. With the AC running a lot it makes a differnce. Not sure what difference it will make in winter.

I'm glad I checked around. I ordered a pair, and when they first arrived one of the lamps was either damaged in-transit or defective. (It worked but glowed much more dimly than it should have.) Customer-service was great and sent me a replacement lamp pronto, w/no-extra charge and no hassle, and both are now installed and working fine. Installation is super easy, just handle w/care and wear gloves. (Touching lamps w/bare hands is apparently a no-no.)
