This thermostat was specifically designed to help owners/managers of "all utilities paid" apartments. A two-step setpoint limiting process insures that temp limits will stay in effect. Same limiting feature as model 1000NC. FEATURES:

I often have at-risk children in my home overnight. In the summer, I will go upstairs and find the air conditioning set at 45 and the sleeping child wrapped up in blankets. In the winter, the thermostat will often be set to 90.
The 2200NC was easy to install. I almost freaked when I couldn't find how to set a password to prevent kids from chainging the settings. Then I found the seperate piece of paper with the instructions on how to reset the limits.
One caution, I originally bought the thermostate for one heat source. If you have a heat pump, don't forget about the emergency heat - you need a two heat source theromstat.
I am really hoping that this thermostat will prevent the kids from changing the settings. The thermostat works, but it hasn't been 'child-tested' yet. It will be interesting.

I bought two for for two apartments that the tenants ruthlessly abused in keeping the heat up so hot they used fans to cool themselves down at night while sleeping. They paid for themselves in two days..easy. It cut my heating cost a good 75%. Should have done this a long time ago.

I got what I wanted for my heat pump split system Air-conditioning units. This thermostat replaced the Honeywell mercury thermostat. It was very easy to replace wiring terminals and installation.
