There are so many companies advertize the HDC-12 filters, but; they are not the exact same size. They are as much as 1/4" thinner which makes the unit not wick right and shortens the life. The right ones easily last a month or two and the wrong size may only last a week or two.

It's a fine replacement filter. I always use bacteriostatic and a hard water additive and I have never had a bit of trouble,I think that's really the key with any filter
