American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap - for drywall installation. Can be ceiling or wall mounted. 4" Duct Collars on each side of trap.
This secondary lint trap is intended for use when required in a Dryer Booster Fan application, as noted in the Dryer Booster Fan installation manual. Additionally, this secondary lint trap can be used in Dryer Booster Fan applications where excessive dryer lint generation is likely.
This secondary lint trap is not intended for use without a Dryer Booster Fan, unless the application is approved by the dryer manufacturer and/or the local building inspector.
Installed easy enough. Looks like it was made in a basement shop. Assembly not square. Had I had a drawing I could have made a better one myself. Also since it's mounted above the dryer, when you go to clean it the lint falls on the dryer.

Dryer screen, works great.Edges a little sharp, I added metal tape. Wish it was made out of plastic.

Comments about American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
This item was purchased to decrease/eliminate the amount of lint that was consistently accumulating in the garden beneath the dryer exhaust vent outside. It has almost entirely eliminated this problem. I do have questions about the durability of the vent screen, as it seems cheaply made, but so far it is holding up well.

Comments about American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
Dryer lint traps don't trap it all. A secondary lint trap is perfect to collect the other stuff that escapes (and litters.) Unfortunately, I had to order on-line, as none of the big box hardware stores in my area (Olympia, WA) carried this product.

Comments about American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
Dryer was against inside wall and had to be vented out the attic. Lint seemed to get trapped in the dryer hose. This is a perfect solution.

Comments about American Aldes Dryer Lint Trap:
The American Aldes Dryer Lint trap is the 3rd different one that I have tried. I have been disappointed by all three of them. The second one I tried was a Fantech and the double screen on it captured the most lint but lint got trapped between the two screens and was difficult to clean. The American Aldes Trap screen is easier to clean however it does not capture as much lint. It also is difficult to open and it leaks around the seal. The first lint trap I bought leaked air badly. I forget the brand name on it.
