Simply following your recommended maintenance steps and installing the replacement parts now has the unit working fine. The instructions were easy to follow. It's a shame that your local reps don't stand behind your well-designed products. Best Uses Comments about Aprilaire Tune-Up Kit for Model 112 Humidifier: The spare parts I ordered were reasonably priced, apparently good quality and [...]. The main problem I had was getting the old humidifier apart and back together again. The previous homeowner put it in so I don't know if they did much preventive maintenance! It's very rickety and tough to access. I hate compression fittings because they never seem to seal properly... Also a lot of the metal parts had rusted. The main problem with the spare parts was the old water strainer filter was impossible to dislodge from the tubing leading to the solenoid valve.
