Aprilaire #60 Humidistat With Blower Activation - Replaces #56 and #58 Digital Controls
New from Aprilaire - the #60 automatic digital control works like the popular #58 control, but can turn on your HVAC blower when there's a need for humidification - even if there's no call for heat. External blower activation relays are eliminated! This feature works well with today's more efficient heating systems that have shorter run cycles and supply lower-temperature air. Also, a manual mode switch is onboard the control, which eliminates the need to use the separate manual mode resistor.
The new Aprilaire # 60 automatic humidifier control works in conjunction with your furnace to control the operation of the humidifier. The control senses indoor RH and outdoor temperature and automatically adjusts the operation time of the humidifier to provide the optimum humidity level in the home. The digitial readout on the control displays the RH level inside the cold air return. Can also be used in manual mode when it is not possible to run wire to outdoor sensor. MOUNTS ON RETURN DUCTWORK
New lighted display includes indoor relative humidity readout, service indicator light, water panel change light, and "on" indicator light.
NOTE: control must be continously powered for proper functionality - separate 24 volt transformer may be required.
For use with models: 110, 112, 220, 224, 400, 440, 445, 445A, 448, 500, 550, 558, 560, 560A, 568, 600, 700, 760, 760A and 768 and any other humidifier that requires 24V humidistat.
Unit dimensions - 5 15/*16" W X 4 1/4"" H Requires round 3/4" hole for duct mounting.
Comments about Aprilaire #60 Humidistat With Blower Activation:
This is the missing link that helps regulate the humidity for short run cycles of your furnace. Works incredibly well once you get past the installation. Installation instructions are easy to read, you just have to follow them precisely. Well worth the investment!

Comments about Aprilaire #60 Humidistat With Blower Activation:
This is the fourth Model #60 that I have installed for various relatives. Depending on the location of the furnace with respect to a shaded outside spot for the outdoor sensor, the installation effort will usually be well compensated by the operation effort it saves. This humidistat eliminates over-humidification on cold days, making any effort well worth it.It should be great for anyone who may go on a winter vacation and want to keep the house humidity at the proper level. My biggest problem in installing these units has been a compulsion of mine to redo sloppy wiring practices left behind by others who had worked on those furnaces in the past.

I am pleased with the positive change in humidity in my Michigan home. I like the idea that the humidistat is responding to current outdoor conditions with the external sensor.

This was a great investment. We have an old model 112 and have fought for years to control the humidity without getting condensation on the windows. This works flawless in Chicago. i have seem the the humidty swing between 22% and 41% in the first few weeks depending on the outside temp. Not a drop of condensation inside. Only thing I would have liked was to remote mount near the t-stat to verify function.

The great thing about this product is the fan control. Before I installed this device my humidifier could never keep up with it's setting because the call for heat was not often enough. Sometimes when it got too dry I would manually turn on the furnace fan so the humidifier could run. This device does that for me 24x7 and now I have much more consistant humidity at the level my family requires.

Comments about Aprilaire #60 Humidistat With Blower Activation:
I originally purchased my complete system through a third party. He did a nice job on the hardware install, but wiring was not his cup of tea. Upon hitting the power, we quickly found ourselves with a fried control panel. I decided to tackle the wiring install for the replacement on my own. The wiring instructions that came with the unit were quite easy to understand. I could see immediately where we had gone wrong the first time!

Does exactly what we needed. Activates the humidifier and fan when the house needs to be humidified. The outside temperature sensor is great for eliminating condensation on the windows as well.
