Comments about Aprilaire #4089 Pump Assembly for 445, 445A, and 448 humidifier:
The house already came with the Aprilaire 445 unit. The old pump & reservior bolt assembly had to be replaced, not because of electronic fault, but because the plastic mounting plate upon which the pump and regulator switch are mounted broke off at the reservior bolt & caused a flood. The Plastic plate was really all that needed replacing. But the pump unit is mounted to it, so I replaced that in order to have an unbroken mounting plate (Who knows? pumps don't last forever, so I figured why not replace that too anyway.) I simply switched the older humidifier regulator switch to the new plasic mount. Aprilaire, please consider the quality of the plastics you use. There are stronger materials, even stronger and more durable plastics upon which to mount anything that requires taking weight as is required of the plasitic mount & reservior bolt when the the reservior is filled with water. I really would be cautious of purchasing this unit as new, only because the electronics outlast the cheap, plastic mounting plate! Also, even though unit is in the basement, fan is just too noisy - unnecessarily so. Sorry, Aprilaire. It's Just my opinion.
