Cons Best Uses Comments about AIRTEC MXE Return/Exhaust Grille for 6/7/8" Duct - No Damper: One plus this grille has is the feature allowing for mounting to a drywall (or other panel) ceiling or wall, in that it mounts just like an "old work" electrical box. On each of the 4 screws is a 'wing' that swings out to contact the back side of the mounting surface as they are tightened, once inserted into the hole cut for mounting it. This allows for a snug fit, yet reversing the screws allows for easy removal if necessary. The internal side of the grille has a stepped "tear off" flange mount for either 6", 7", or 8" duct. I have 2 of these on 8" flex ducts, and one mounted to a typical 8" duct elbow. The ducts can be fastened to it with a zip tie, screws, or duct tape. Assembly is quick and easy. I don't think it will be easy to clean as you can not tank the grill off and washer it without disconnecting it from the ducting.
