I was late on changing this element, and it's usually because it's hard to find at the stores. I did a search for evaporators for my model 550 humidifier and I found this site quickly, and I got two elements for the price of one. This is a good deal.

I can only say it does what it is supposed to do and that is spreads the water flow out in order that the heat may carry some of that which is evaporated through the vents and distribute the humidity throughout the house.

The quality of the filters we purchased are durable and hold up for a long period. We have a very old farm house and the Aprilaire humidifier does not seem to put enough moisture in the air with our furnace. We use additional room humidifiers to increase humidity during the winter.

Easy to install, but difficult to keep from overflow leaking after proper instalation. Would recommend slightly crunching down the top of the filter to get a more consistant water flow. Once done the filter worked fine with no overflow leaks.

I would have given the product 5 stars, however it was missing the paint mark that shows what side goes up. I carefully compaired it to the old water panel to determine the orientation. Apparently the water gets directed to the center of the panel.
I don't mind the packaging change, but isn't plastic less environmentaly friendly than cardboard?

This wasn't marked required!

My whole house Humidifier needed new filters and when we recieved them my husband proceeded to put it in the humidifier and it didn't work. Well long story short my husband fix it and replaced the filter and everything is running fine.
