The product is the same as the other expensive filters but this came in the 3 pack and was the most economical choice vs others. It was the cheapest I could find and in fact works better than previous GE filters. Water comes out better, tastes better. No issues at all. Don't know about the longevity of the filter yet, still new.

this is my first filter replacement and i couldn't have been more satisfied with the overall experience, both with product and service. while i can't comment on the longevity of these Britas compared to the OEM GE filters quite yet, the most noticeable difference is that the flowrate out of the water dispenser in the fridge is drastically improved!prior to the "change filter" light on the fridge coming on, the water dispenser output had gotten to where it barely trickled, and i also had noticed that my ice cubes kept getting smaller and smaller. i was worried that the fridge was just cheap junk, but apparently it was just the old (less than a year) filter getting clogged up.as soon as i installed the Brita, the flowrate was faster and stronger than i'd ever remembered, and my ice cubes returned to normal size.[...].thanks!

We purchased this as a replacement for the GE filters that we have used since we bought the refrigerator. The price [...]were very good. The filter itself was very hard to turn onto the adapter. Even my husband tried and finally the third time it turned to where it was supposed to. We thought we had turned it 90 degrees, but it wasn't and the water wouldn't come out the dispenser. After removing it twice, we got the wrench out and it turned further with the wrench. Since then, we have been pleased. It was never that hard to attach the GE filters, but the Brita ones work fine now that they have been attached.

britta doesn't take out all the stuff like cripto and floride the GE takes it all out, its a good filter if thats not a concern. know what your needs are and what you need to filter out.

Installed easily and correctly, and works great compared to the original GE filters. Much cheaper, too. Only complaint is it took a couple of days to clear all of the air out the line and the filter, which resulted in the water dispenser spurting out water at times.

We needed a replacement for the original filter that came with the fridge. We had no complaints with the original, but I wanted to find the best deal for replacements and ending up choosing the Brita. It seems to work at least as well as the original filter, which is all I can ask for. The 3-pack should last me a full year or more, so it is one less thing to worry about.
Delivery was prompt and everything arrived in great condition. Installed one filter right away and put the other two in storage.

Great tasting water but the filter doesn't last as long as the GE brand so the filter ends up costing more. My GE filters last on average 4-5 months. The Brita, less than two. Very disappointed.

This is the first time I've used the Brita replacement for the GE filters. Water quality is very good. Taste is excellent.
The one issue I encountered was that it took a considerable amount of time for the water flow to become as strong as with the GE filters. Within one day, however, all was fine.

It fits and no leaks, nothing to worry about. Make sure you turn off the water to the fridge first and fill the unit with water prior to installing. 3 pack is very convenient and a good value

Bought these to replace our GE fridge filter. The water tastes much better now. The only caveat is that the water flow appears to come out slower than it did with the OEM filter. A small price to pay for better filtrated good tasting water, but nevertheless noticeable. I plan to use all three of my filters and will order then again, come time.
I wish there was a way to recycle these items. It seems like a substantial waste to toss these into the trash.

My water dispenser failed after the installation of the new filters. I had to return the filters for a refund and order the GE product. In my opinion these filters were not compatible as advertised.

The filter was a great replacement, but the installation was a little touchy. I had some issues with was the alignment of the threads. It could have been user error, but when I first connected it, the filter threads apparently didn't fully engage. The result was a lot of pressure on the cartridge and very low water pressure at the spigot.
Removing the filter and carefully replacing it with a lot of upward force fixed everything. Then I just had to mop up the water all over the inside of the fridge :-)
Service / delivery was awesome. The filters arrived within 2 days of placing the order!

Works as a perfect replacement for GE filters. Flow was a little slower initially that GE (I pre-filled the filter with water before installation). But after a couple of days, the flow is actually better than the GE filters I've had in the past. Tastes great.

All the Mumbo Jumbo about the "adapter" I might need had me worried right up until I took the plug out ( I had removed the original filter for summer vacation several months earlier). My Hotpoint refrigerator apparently didn't need one. A better explanation of whatever this adapter is all about would be helpful[...]

Regarding this product, it works but seems to be a little more restrictive than the OEM filter it replaces. Water flow is slower. Otherwise, everyhting else with the filter is fine.
My review about this company, Filter-Outlet.com. They are the BEST!! Best service, easy online ordering and prompt delivery. I will always check first with Filter-outlet for my future filtration needs.

First use after install, water flow may slow. Unscrew it to release air, then screw it back in. Works perfectly!

I use these to replace my GE stock filter. The water tastes great and installation was a breeze. The only drawback so far has been that the flow is a bit slower (takes longer to fill a glass) than the stock GE filter. Otherwise a great product.

I've used Brita Pitcher Water filters before. Replacing filters require to toss out the first couple of batches of water. Surprisingly, the fridge version however does not according to the instructions. Just plug it in and drink away.
This is the first filter I'm using on this fridge but I notice the water flow seems slow. Can't tell if it is the fault of the filter or the fridge.

It took approximately 10 days to receive the product using the free shipping option. I could see that it sat in the FedEx distribution center in Phoenix for about 5 of those days before it was handed off to the USPS. However, I didn't have a filter emergency and expected it to take longer since the shipping was free. If I had paid for the shipping I would probably been more annoyed.

very disappointed in performance...

Installed just like the GE filter it replaced. The old GE filters (GWF) lasted quite a while, The new ones (MWF) only seemed to last a month or so. The new brita filter is doing well after a few weeks, no sulfer taste.

I have been using the Brita substitute filter in my refrigerator for over a year and have not noticed any difference from the original GE filter. I perceive installation, performance and durability to be exactly the same as the original filter. I have recommended this filter to family and friends.

It was nice to get three filters for an appreciable discount over buying them one at a time. I have used Brita filters in the past for their water pitchers, and always found them to work well in producing better tasting water than straight out of the tap. And I drink a lot of water.

I bought the Brita replacement filter to try it out to save a few bucks. Turns out that the taste is great and I haven't noticed any difference in installation, pour, etc... since using the GE filter.

I found Filter-out.com doing an Internet search for replacements of my GE Profile refrigerator's water filter. Originally went with GE brand. Pricing good on box of three, but got reminder notice from filter-outlet re: the Brita. Great price, great brand and the water from the frig (via tap) is actually drinkable! No hesitation from supplier or this product.

Best if changed about once/year regardless of how many gallons have passed through. I save all the old filters in hopes that some day someone will offer a refill cartridge service similar to inkjet cartridges for printers...hope I'm right! LOL

I noticed a drastic drop in water flow rate. The first time I installed it, it did not trip the mechanism that enables the water to flow. After taking it off and reinstalling, it worked like a champ. The taste is much better than the factory GE filter that came with the fridge. It does take a bit longer to fill a cup now. A+

This replacement filter for the standard GE fit perfectly, and produced good, clean water right from the start, no extended break-in needed.
The only caution is that you must fill the filter before attaching. If you don't, you will experience a period of reduced flow. To their credit, Brita does include this in the documentation.
Great value, especially in comparison to the OEM part.

We have had our GE refrigerator for about 5 years and this is the first time we tried a filter other than the factory replacement. I went for the bargain and was not very satisfied. On top of that I bought the 3 pack and now have to suffer through months of having pecuilar tasting water.
My advice, stick with the factory brand.
