It took a total of 45 minutes to remove my old thermostate, install and setup the new Focus Pro 6000. I have been using this thermostat for 3 weeks and feel safe in saying it is the best I have ever had. I would definatly recomend this thermostate to anyone wishing to upgrade from the old mechanical type thermostate.

This is a wonderful programmable thermostat but not for the average homeowner. The box specifically states that it MUST BE INSTALLED BY A PROFESSIONAL.
I have installed programmable thermostats in my homes before but the instructions with this one require training in advanced HVAC.

Installation was very easy using the wiring diagram that came with the furnace (A two stage Trane with a single stage AC) and the directions that came with the thermostat. Programming is intuitive and should be adequate for most home owners. The hold button allows a set temp to be maintained and bypasses the program schedule until it is disabled by the user (ie vacations etc.)
It holds the tempurature within less than one degree. Very pleased.

I installed this thermostat in a large home with dual Trane gas furnaces and an air conditioner. The Trane furnaces have 2 heat settings, which made it tricky to find a replacement for the original non-program Trane 'stat. The TH6220D was a perfect replacement. I was careful to label each wire with its original post first, then it was a simple matter to match up the proper location in the new 'stat.
Initial setup and programming was by the book and went without a hitch. Due to the flexibility of configurations that this device can control, and the seperate settings for 5/1/1 or 5/2 schedules, setup can be quite lengthy. But all of this can be done off-base, sitting in a comfortable chair, then mounting on the base when you're done. Built-in tests to make sure everything is working as planned are also very convenient.
Finally, operation couldn't be much more intuitive. If we need to bump the temp up or down a few degrees for temporary condition (grandma visiting, house full of people, etc.) the scheduled temp will be back in place the next day. And if we leave town for a few days, we just set a temperature and press 'Hold', which bypasses all schedules. Couldn;t be much easier!
Delivery was prompt and accurate. The thermostat and Wall Plate were packed well and in perfect condition.

I have a Carrier heat pump for which I needed a new thermostat. A technician recommended that I use a Honeywell for my new thermostat (my old one was a RiteTemp). I installed the Honeywell but the installation instructions were not the best (the heat pump wiring terminals did not match).
Once the thermostat was installed correctly, it worked just fine. Easy to use and easy to program

For a 2 stage Heat/1 stage cooling Heat Pump I found this to be a very good control thermostat. I installed without any problems as the Manual was very descriptive on installation and programing.
I placed the order on Thursday and UPS delivered on the following Tuesday. Well within the scheduled time frame. Both the Ordering and Delivery of the product was excedllent.

Paid 1/3 the price heating company wanted for this thermostat. Easy to install if you remember 2 things. 1. Turn off power to unit. 2. Be VERY sure you know here the wires will go. Mine requires 7 wires and both the old and new thermoststs were marked.
It works great. We love it.

I replaced an old style bimetal-mercury switch thermostat on a heat pump with auxiliary and emergency heats. This electronic type is far better in all respects. Although I have no experience with any other programmable thermostat, this is a good one, and I recommend it.[...]

THIS PRODUCT DOES EVERYTHING IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO. I HAVEN'T HAD ONE PROBLEM FROM MY HVAC SYSTEM SINCE INSTALLING THE PRO 6000. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS.
