Comments about Airtec AIRTEC MVAW Antique Diffuser Grille for 6/7/8" Duct:
The injection is very high-quality. The installation is easy with the fold-out tabs. The grille is molded with some bend in it so that when you screw it down it flattens and holds very flush. The only complaint I have is the diffuser inside. Note that it is a geared diffuser that comes with a separate and loose knob to turn closed or turn open. The interface with the knob is sloppy and the diffuser inside is not worth using. I intended to leave it in an open position and disassembled and removed it entirely. The vent is better off without the diffuser internals to get in the way, whistle, or break. The diffuser is not a usable option - if you want to set it partially closed and forget it then go ahead and buy it. Otherwise, buy the version without the diffuser inside.

I used these grilles in an old farmhouse that had 12" X 12" ceiling tiles. I wanted to fit a single grille within a single ceiling tile. The grilles, once installed, were attractive, but likely not as attractive as a similar product made of bronze or another metal. (That said, these grilles were less than 1/2 the cost of similar metal grilles.)
