tune-up kit had better quality parts than original,suggestions:remove solenoid valve from humidifier,flip over to remove filter,new filter can be used to remove old filter,also original humidifier had no metering orifice plus if your original filter was partially clogged(like mine),you may want to recalibrate to your desired humidity level

Everything needed in a single package. The hardest thing about the installation was removing the solenoid to ensure it was clear, then replacing the tiny bits. Took about 30 minutes and everything fit and worked well, even the filter which goes inside the intake of the solenoid. All in all a great value.

A great way to tune up your Aprilaire humidifier! The instructions are basic, though, and that's putting it nicely. In any event, installation is fairly straightforward. I never did understand exactly how the strainer fit in the solenoid valve, as my original installer had not used one. I just left it out. Tip: If you live out west as I do, be sure to install a whole-house water softener to obviate formation of scale on the water panels. I had no softener my first season with the Aprilaire, and without one, scale collects all over the water panel, distribution panel, and scale control insert. It is a mess. Moreover, some particulate dust from that scale can blow through the water panel itself and collect inside the return duct. And I had only 10 grains of hardness!

Worked great, the only gotcha resulted from the previous owner not following the Aprilaire directions on the placement of the flow-limiter but found an easy workaround.

Everything fits well, except the tube. It's very stiff, much stiffer than the original. Took me a long time to fit it in and cut it. Then it was hard to close the lid because the tubing is in the way. Anyway, now it's installed - hopefully it will last for a few years!

Everything fit, and was easy to install, except the inline filter. Even though my humidifier model number matched, this little filter did not fit in where the diagram said it should. Obviously, I have been operating without this filter so far, so no big deal. Saved big over professional maintenance visit, and it was easy.

Replacement kit was complete and, in total, was a good replacement system. Instructions sparse, and only on a small sticker of one part bag. Two parts were slightly inferior to the original parts-- the intake line was less flexible and the nylon fitting was tighter diameter than what it replaced (tougher to slide over intake line).

I bought a tune up kit for my Aprilaire 600 humidifier. It came with everything needed to perform a tune up and get it working like new again, however, the new black plastic housing did not fit in the humidifier case without first cutting the sides of the housing away so it would fit. Also, the replacement housing was somewhat different from the original and there was no mechanism provided to secure the water hose to the top of the distribution tray. The original tray had a molded in holder for the waterline while the new one had nothing to attach it to,so, I had to improvise a way by using a tye-rap. It works, but I am disatisfied with the ill fitting black tray and the lack of any water hose attachment mechanism.

I bought my home and the humidifier was 3 years old. With no water softner there was large mineral deopsits throughout the sending lines/evaporater/drain tube. I was able to install the tune-up kit in about 10 minutes and it runs like new!

Prior to purchasing the tune up kit for my 600, I had no idea that such a tiny amount of particulates can clog this thing, making it inoperable. The filter was toast. I found the tune up kit on this website, and in a short time I had my repair kit. I couldn't believe how many parts came with it. I was surprised to know that it needed them all replaced. Seven or eight minutes and I was done, and it was working. Extremely easy to tune up.

Tube out of the solenoid was plugged. This solved it. Tray came with "riser". Riser made it leak. Took it out, no more leakes. Notices my old tray did not have one.

My humidifier wasn't working and I discovered the water panel had what looked like years worth of sediment - it actually makes very pretty fractal-like patterns but it also makes the humidifier unusable. Also, the little water strainer didn't seem to be working and the frame that holds the panel was crusted over with hard water buildup. I was about to pay quite a bit more for this package on the AprilAire website when I came across this website. As far as I can tell the package has about the same stuff. I'm not even sure the other package included two water panels like this one does. [...] After the tuneup my humidifier is running great and my house is no longer bone dry. I can't say enough how great this deal was or how pleased I am with this website. I will definitely order again.

The tune-up kit is great. I did make an error in changing out the feed tube. It needs to be connected to the solenoid valve first and then inserted into the distributor tray. I did it in reverse and broke the plastic tube support guide within the distributor tray. Bending the tube puts additional force on the tube support guide if inserted first and can cause damage to the distributor tray. For best results - always connect feed tube to the solenoid valve first and then thread tube through wall of unit and insert into distributor tray tube support guide. AprilAire Customer Support – had a new distributor to me within 3 days! Thanks to all.

Great product. Worked well. I was able to completely rebuild my existing system with the replacement kit. The only thing I would like to point out is the new supply line was a little difficult to bend and manipulate. The material it is made of is extremely heavy duty and tough to bend, its crimps very easy. Other than that, the kit worked awesome. Some of the items in the kit were on backorder and Aprilaire included an additional filter for the trouble. Great Product, Great Company. You dont find places like this very often anymore.
