I had no idea that this part existed until my father-in-law informed me, 'your furnace is leaking.' I opened the humidifier and was shocked. This filter had not been changed in a long time. This product was a quick easy fix and made me look like I knew what I was doing. Product was a perfect fit and after ordering the refurbishment kit as well (old filter was not my only problem) I was good to go.

Water Panel Quality Seems Diminished. The replacement panels seemed to be made of lighter gauge of metal. So although I paid for Aprilaire replacement panels, I got a less expensive replacement from a non-branded manufacturer. The fact the replacement panel is constructed to different (lower materials standards) and sold at the premium price does not reflect positively on the brand. It is the fact I thought I was getting a premium Aprilaire part because I paid a premium price for the panels, but received a flimsier replacement that I cannot recommend the purchase of this product. I do believe it will work as a replacement, but it should have been priced lower because of the diminished quality of the replacement materials.

Works and fits exactly as Aprilaire pad. My humidifier water valve had started making a rapid clicking that would only stop if I turned the system off. I was worried that perhaps my humidistat needed to be replaced, as I didn't see how the pad could have been causing it. I decided to replace the pad anyway, and chose this less-expensive one since I didn't really think it would work. Sure enough, the system has been working fine for weeks now, no clicking at all.

Next though, I would go with cardboard based filters which are hypo-allergic and will not have chloride deposits on them...they might need replacement 2x times but still cheaper and more efficient.

I bought 4 of these generic replacements for my Aprilaire 600 humidifier. They seem to be of the same material and seem to work fine. The only difference I found between these and the OEM filter replacement is that these are less thick by about a quarter of an inch. They fit fine and work fine but they are not as thick. I guess that's where the cost savings comes from.

When I received the shipment, the outer carton and inner carton were not damaged. The water filter, however was crushed on the bottom like it has been hit by some small object like a rod or bar. I was able to pull it back out some, but it still shows damage.
