We use Holmes humidifiers to improve health during dry winter months. When the air is moist you breath better and sleep sounder.
Moist air feels warmer. You can set that thermostat lower and save big bucks on heating.
Fine stringed musical instruments can dry out, warp, crack and lose their resonance in the wintertime. My Gibson accoustic retails new for about $2500. Whether you own a guitar, violin, piano or any other fine stringed instrument, you don't want it to lose value with age.
I do wish the filters would clean easier, but no humidifier can overcome calcium and lime.
I highly recommend Holmes products. I've found nothing better on the market.

These were purchased for use in our accounting department. They told me they were better made than the filters that came with the humidifier. No complaints at all.

Metal mesh encasing is sturdier than the plastic used with the filter that comes with the humidifier and other replacements. It also doesn't flake off, putting plastic particles in the water.
