Questions? Call Toll Free (866) 764-9900 In any season, excess humidity in your home can make for an uncomfortable indoor environment. Dampness, stickiness and odors are just a few of the many symptoms associated with air that has too much moisture. Honeywell has a solution with the DH90 Whole-house Dehumidifier. Unlike portable, single-room units, a Whole-house Dehumidifier is installed in your home’s central heating and cooling system, and works to eliminate excess moisture in all rooms throughout your home. Plus, Honeywell’s DH90 Dehumidifier features an integrated ventilation control that introduces fresh, filtered air into your home as stale, moist air is being removed. The DH90 removes a large amount of moisture from the air and the device must be connected to a drain line that will carry away the excess water. A trap in the drain line is recommended and may be required by some local codes. The drain line should be connected to the 3/4" male pipe thread adaptor on the front of the DH90. Care should be taken to install the drain line with a continuous slope of 1" per 10' to assure proper water removal. FEATURES: Increased Comfort — Automatically senses excess moisture and works to lower humidity levels throughout your entire home. Meets American Lung Association® Health House® guidelines. Improved Air Circulation — Integrated fresh air ventilation control works with your heating and cooling equipment to bring in fresh, filtered outside air while removing stale, humid indoor air. Whole-House — More effective and less expensive than portable, single-room dehumidifiers. Plus – no need to empty tanks. Merv 11 filter comes standard with the unit. Large Capacity — Removes up to 90 pints of water from the home per day. Energy Savings — Offers more moisture removal while using less energy by recovering energy generated in the moisture transfer between incoming and outgoing air streams. Easy To Use — Set-it-and-forget-it control automatically provides optimum moisture removal and ventilation control. No need to change settings or make adjustments. The DH90 comes equipped with a high efficiency MERV 11 filter. Outside air and supplied air from the house are filtered as the air travels through the dehumidifier. An efficiency rating of MERV 11 means the filter will remove 85% of large particles such as pollens, mold spores, and indoor allergens that pass through the filter. How does the W8150 Fresh Air Ventilation Controller work? The DH90 comes bundled with the Honeywell W8150 fresh air ventilation controller. The W8150 calculates the amount of ventilation required in the home based on size of the home, number of rooms in the home, and the airflow of the DH90. These settings, when used with the EARD6 damper, allow the W8150 to ventilate the home and meet ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation requirements. Once the W8150 is set, it will control ventilation with no homeowner interaction. What is the energy usage of the DH90 Dehumidifier? The DH90 uses 6.2 amps of electricity (120V) making it 33%* more energy efficient than equivalent competitor brands. What are the duct sizes of the different ports? The unit is provided with 6” (fresh air) and 10” (indoor air) inlet collars. The processed air exits the unit via a 10” round duct. How is water drained from the unit? The DH90 has 3/4” female nominal pipe thread to which an adapter for PVC pipe can be attached and the condensate gravity-drained from the unit. How is the unit powered? 115 volt with ground from a 15 amp circuit. The unit is powered through a factory installed 7.5’ power cord. How is the unit insulated? The unit has internal 3/4” expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation to prevent exterior condensation. What is the MERV rating of the filter? How often should it be changed? The Honeywell DH90 Dehumidifier uses a MERV 11 filter and should be changed every 6 months. How does the Honeywell DH90 Dehumidifier know when to dehumidify? The DH90 comes with the Honeywell H8908 dehumidistat. This unit allows the homeowner to set the level of humidity within the home. Does the ventilation port have to be active? No. The 6” ventilation port does not have to be activated to provide dehumidification. A 6” piece of foam insulation needs to be removed before the DH90 will ventilate. The DH90 comes with the Honeywell W8150 ventilation control system. The W8150 along with the optional EARD6 damper controls the amount of fresh air that comes in to the home based on the size of the home and number of rooms. Where can the DH90 Dehumidifier be installed? The Honeywell DH90 is ideal for attic, crawlspace, basement, and multiple-system applications. Common ducted installation location is near the air conditioner coils. The DH90 should always be installed next to a condensate drain where the water from the unit can properly be drained. The DH90 can also be installed as a stand alone unit as long as a drain is present. What refrigerant is used? The DH90 Dehumidifier uses R22 refrigerant ***Note: Our shipping arrangement for the Honeywell DH90A1007 includes palletizing and shipping via an LTL freight carrier.
