Works as stated, will leak if not completely level. Hose could be better, in that it is compressed flat upon delivery that seems to create some back pressure that might cause leaking.

I have a bad condensation problem when the ac ducts sweat in the high humitidy in my crawl space. I installed 6 mil plastic on the ground and blocked off the vents. I installed a Dri Eaz CMC100. I also installed 3 fans to move the air around and 2 remote humitidy read outs that i monitor from inside my house. It is working very well. The real test will be this summer. My crawl space humitidy went from 75% plus to around 45%. I also installed several ground fault recepticles in the crawl space for neatness and safety. I have about $1,450.00 invested. That is a lot cheaper than having to replace floor joist and floors. Mold should not be a ploblem now either.

Comments about Dri-Eaz Products Dri-Eaz CMC100 Compact Dehumidifier:

I like the machine so far. I was running about 75-90% in my crawl space this summer. I received the machine, set it up (easy), and set the reading at 55%. It only took about 2.5 days to bring the humidity down. I then lowered it to 45% and this is where it consistantly stays. My crawl space is approx. 1,750 feet at an average height of 2.5 feet.
The enclosed drain hose is useless but pvc can remedy that problem.
The only problem I have encountered is that the reading on the machine and the humidity reading from a separate gauge vary by about 10-15%. I am not sure which to trust. I ducted the CMC about 7-8 feet away from the machine. Since my crawl space is rectangle, I am not sure how to accurately determine the humidity? I may buy another tester to put on the opposite end of the area with the machine in the middle.
I have not had one problem so far about 3 weeks in. Good Luck!

P.S. I am awaiting my next electric bill!! It is only supposed to pull 6 amps so it shouldn't be too bad! Hoping anyway!!

Comments about Dri-Eaz Products Dri-Eaz CMC100 Compact Dehumidifier:

just bought this unit to fix a humidity problem in my crawl space. within 8 hours, the humidity level went from 87% to 45%. WOW. This thing could squeeze water out of a rock. It is unbelievely silent. Installation took 5 minutes. The 1/2 inch tubing that comes with it is garbage, it kinks (impossible to remove the kinks because the tube was bent in the package) and it stops the water flow...causing some water to leak from the outtake because of the pressure. I replaced this with an $8 heavy duty 1/2 reinforced tubing and it fixed the problem. I dont understand why this high quality $1000 unit is sold with low quality tubing. Besides this minor irritant, the unit is nothing short of fantastic. I have installed the unit 2 weeks ago, so I have no clue of long term performance or reliability...time will tell. I highly recommend.

Comments about Dri-Eaz Products Dri-Eaz CMC100 Compact Dehumidifier:

Humidity sensor reads lower than actual when operating (up to 20% lower). Unit turns off when set value is reached and then the reading quickly increases (to actual) causing the unit to go back on. This is a constant situation that causes excessive on/off operation. An accurate, advanced dehumidistat that has a high value on setting (e.g. 50%) and low value off setting (e.g., 45%) would make this a better unit.

My crawl space is 2000 sq ft and 2 1/2 ft high. The humidity in my crawl space was 80%. The insulation was falling down and I had mold. The floor joist were turning black. I knew I had to do something. I read the reviews and ordered the CMC 100. After 1 week of use the humidity is down to 53%. I am amazed at how much water this unit removes from the air under my house. I did seal all opening. I used 1/2" cpvc for a drain line. Works great.

it has only been 3 weeks but the unit is keeping my crawlspace around 50% humidity and before it was @ 80% and i could go lower if i wanted to. In My case since i had such high humidity to start the unit at the very bottom of the coils started to freeze and it leaked very little but once it started to get control of the humidity it thawed and no problem since. I Highly Recommend DRI-EAZ after all the research i did it was the best in price, function ability, built in pump, reliability. And like everyone else says replace the external hose with one from the hardware store that is alot less kink happy

Very pleased with this purchase. I first tested this in my garage for about 5 minutes just to ensure it worked before I took it to the middle of my crawlspace. The initial humidity reading was about 60% and dropped a couple of points after a few minutes. I put it in my crawlspace and the initial reading was 90%. I have a large crawlspace (about 3000 sqft) so I was concerned it may be a little undersized, but within two weeks the humidity was below 50%. I closed most of my foundation vents and I had previously covered the crawlspace ground with 6 mil plastic (I was hoping the plastic would work without the dehumidifier, not so fortunate). Anyhow, so far the Dri-Eaz has worked great. The only thing I had to modify was the drain. The cheap tubing did not work for my application so I routed some ½" PVC.

This is an excellent unit. I installed an EBAC five years ago in my personal home. It was an energy hog. This unit is much more compact, and it addressed the humidity problem in my clients crawl space. The price point is o.k. As a contractor, I believe the unit is worth $800-$900. My client is very happy.

I use this dehumidifier as an immediate tool to lower humidity on new jobs. By the next day, we are ready to install new materials because this dehumidifier dries so well. This leads to less time loss waiting and a better environment to work in. Overall, money-maker!

The first day received, put in a wet basement with puddles. The next day, puddles were dry. The 3rd day, put in a crawlspace, next day, results perfect! Great dehumidifier!

We've had this installed in our finished basement for about 3 weeks and all is well. I'm amazed at how much water it's pulling. We did get our own tubing as the one supplied was thin and kinked easily. I am glad though that we hired someone to install it because it would have taken quite a bit longer than we anticipated (took the professionals 2 hours, can't imagine how much time it would have taken my husband.) The company owner was VERY helpful with our product selection and very patient with my zillion questions. Good value.

Comments about Dri-Eaz Products Dri-Eaz CMC100 Compact Dehumidifier:

Review after a few months - The unit is a great improvement over [...] models. I wanted a unit that was more powerful and had a longer lifespan. I got the power. It is fairly quiet and decreases the humidity level to 55% or 60% in a very difficult crawlspace/basement. The multiple configurations are nice, but require several screws to be removed and replaced. No filter to speak of, just something to catch visible particles. No serious issues - three minor ones....it iced up once in the late winter causing a leak out the side, but not since (turned it off for a few hours and then good as new)....I didn't get a decrease in overall humidity until I ducted the exhaust air away from the unit (very simple procedure and all fittings are standard)....the condensate pump doesn't seem as powerful as stated. So far this spring it has worked well. The real test will be in the middle of summer and winter (I specifically bought it for the low temp mode). All together, it seems to be a good compact unit for the money.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was very quick. The driver (FedEx Ground) was nice enough to keep the wood pallet and the unit was compact enough to move on my own (although it could be a two person job). Pay attention to the comment above about the top of the box coming off once separated from the pallet!

To be fair it did not work, right out of the box. The thermidistat was not working properly, however it did run and is very versitle in placement. The company was good about taking it back for a refund or fix. I chose the refund because this was the second digital thermidistate problem in a row, not this maker, however. I exchanged it for a SantaFe Compact with rotary knob adjustment. No problelms with the new machine.

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Dri-Eaz Products Dri-Eaz CMC100 Compact Dehumidifier:

[...]We live on the shore of one of the Finger Lakes in a home built last summer. It seems humidity will always be high due to our close proximity to the lake.....and it rains a lot in the Finger Lakes. The day the Dri-Eaz arrived there was 72% humidity in our 1200sf crawl space and a worrying unpleasant smell beginning to come into the house. Within 5 days the humidity was down to 50% and it has leveled off at 47% for the past week with the unit set to maintain 50%. Damp smell is gone.Built in pump means no extra cost for an external unit and I was able to easily attach drain line into existing pvc drain pipe for $1.75 in parts and 30 minutes of time. And I do really appreciate how quiet the unit is while running.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery on time and in good shape.
Word of caution about packaging.... when you cut straps holding shipping box to pallet the top of box is no longer attached to the bottom of shipping box.... this should be changed.

Customer service knowledgeable & helpful.
