Too early to judge the power usage, but I do believe the provided numbers. It is extremely quiet. It is heavy, which probably kills some noise, so thats a plus. When I fired it up, there was 85% humidity in my 1000 square foot basement. I set my external humidistat for 50% and it took 2 days to reach that level, running non stop. I do like that it has an auto defrost cycle which allowed it to easily run for extended periods. It seems to still run a lot trying to hold my basement at 50%, so as soon as I see how much my next electric bill is, I might dial it back a bit. However, I am happy with this unit so far. I hope the unit has a long life.
