They are sized to fit within closets, heated crawl spaces and basements. These humidifiers have an evaporative capacity of 0.50 gallons per hour and are able to handle a home of up to 4,500 square feet, if the home is tightly constructed. The Aprilaire 350 comes with a manual humidistat, installation instructions, a saddle valve, and mounting brackets. The unit can be mounted parellel to ceiling joists, or flush mounted perpendicular to ceiling joists. Included mounting brackets can be used for either purpose. Q: What's the difference between the Model 350 and the Model 360? Both units are totally self-contained and are designed for installation in homes with electric baseboard heat, hydronic heat and even with homes with forced air heating systems with special humidification needs. The model 350 can be hung from the floor joists in a basement and ductwork would connect to a floor vent in a central location in the home for distribution of the humidified air.
