This was bought to replace an existing exact same control that was installed by the heat pump installers. Over the years the original heat/cool switch became unreliable. The replacement being the same just snapped back onto the existing wall base plate. Followed the set up directions, and now heat pump is reliable again. In my case this was a simple repair/replacement.

The install went very easy replacing my very outdated thermostat. Especially with LuxPro tech support and their comprehensive wiring cross-reference diagram. The optional back plate was a nice touch too, no painting.
