The directions were not very clear about which side of the rails should face up or down. The directions were also not very clear about which slots to insert the filter. The frame snapped together fairly easy. The tabs that need to be pushed up (or down) did not just snap in like the video. They needed to be "massaged" with a hammer and screwdriver. Maybe it was because of the tolerances of the original filter housing – who knows – it's in now. Since our filter sits on the floor, I did not have a lot of space to align the filter into the bottom rail. Installation of future filters should be easier. The filter does seem to be effective.

House is less dusty since I installed this. Pretty easy to put together and install. I didn't watch the video, but had some trouble putting the filter in the frame. I had to put the filter in and then put the frame in the housing. Probably just the angle where my housing is installed. Also, filter seems to be a little long for the housing. I had to stuff it in to get the door on.

Easy to assemby, the only problem was the in the directions for the 2 different models. Did not tell what to do with the insulation that was in the old cover (remove or leave it there) since the insert only worked with newer design.

This air filter for my furnace is very easy to install and removes the fuss of inserting comb separators into the original pleated model. This convenience does come at a cost however and I wonder if it will be necessary to purchase the included metal frame every time or if I can merely purchase the filter. Regardless, I would recommend this air filter to anyone who is frustrated by the older design.

I am just an average home owner and not particularly handy. This kit was very easy to assemble and install. It snapped together quickly, the filter installed easily and the whole thing slid into the air cleaner housing solidly. Now, filter replacements will be a snap rather than fiddling with all of the combs and pleats in the old filters.

It took a bit longer to install than my old Honeywell filter, but it still goes together nice and fast. Also has a higher ( better ) Merv rating than both the Honeywell, and the old Aprilaire filters. Significantly more expensive though.

Poor Quality, cheat product. Filter failed some time after installation. Glue used to attach filter to the mounting bracket failed and the filter fell down into the Filter case. So I did not have any filtering system in the air flow.
