Indispensable while we were deployed in Haiti on a medical relief mission. Our admitted and post-surgical patients were being housed in tents outside a damaged Hospital in Southern Haiti after the earthquake. My PA and I both had these hats and used them constantly in any situatuins where low lighting was a problem.

I bought this on a whim for my husband for Christmas. He LOVES it. It's comfortable to wear and provides just enough light for a quick step outside in the dark.
If the light could be made brighter it would make the hat even better.

This hat has two bright white LEDs in the brim that are turned on by pinching a click switch in the brim. It's easy to switch on and off, and casts a dandy wide beam right in front of you where you need it. It runs on two coin batteries that are easily replaced. Give the limited power of coin batteries, I'd suggest using this hat opportunistically when you need a few moments of light. The hat is comfortable and the lights are barely noticeable when it's off, so you could use it all the time. The color doesn't show dirt. My brother uses his for peeking in the smoker when he's barbecuing.

I finally got a chance to use this light when I went to install a new ceiling fan. It was an overcast day, so with the power off the room was not well lit. This hat was much better than relying on a person to hold a flashlight in the right place.
