Nice features-Buttons don't respond well
By The AlaskanVerified Purchaser from Fairbanks, AK on 8/21/2009
Pros:
Attractive Design, Easy Installation
Cons:
Poor User Interface
Best Uses:
Poor Air Quality
Describe Yourself:
Homeowner

Comments about Fantech Fantech Intellitek HRV/ERV Control - EDF 5:

The different cycles the interface allows are nice, although the instructions don't explain them well, especially how the different cycles interrelate. Instructions have those sort of translation errors you'd expect from an Asian product manual.

The two wire installation makes things easy.

The buttons do not depress easily, which is frustrating when you want to make a quick adjustment. The mounting hardware that comes with the unit makes for a floppy, loose wall mounting. That makes having to press the buttons so hard all the more frustrating.

Functional despite flaws.

Pros:
Easily Understood Instructions, Easy Installation
Cons:
One design flaw

Bottom Line:

Comments about Fantech Fantech Intellitek HRV/ERV Control - EDF 5:

This unit was easy to mount. It is not sensitive to polarity so there is no need to remember which wire goes where.

Only problem is it lacks positive latching for the case over the base. This means that any excess wire will push the unit away from the wall.

Easer to figure out how to program the operation of the air exchanger.
