Used for kitchen exhaust over cook top. Replaced fairly new fan-in-hood unit that was noisy and ineffective in removing cooking odors.

Several of our rooms are open to the kitchen, so smoke and odors went everywhere, and my wife has a sensitive nose.
This blower, installed high on a kitchen wall, solved the problem; probably it is more than adequate.
Glad we got the speed control switch, so it is not so loud and does not suck the furniture out.
I found the installation a complicated learning experience. Had trouble mounting the adapter through the wall: I included a damper and when it opened it bumped the fan, so I had to shift it upstream.
Installation of the outside frame and trimming the siding for it went better than expected. Used a lot of caulk and flashed it well, though this was somewhat vague in the instructions.

Ideal for situations where you need to move a lot of air but don't want the fan inside the building. Great airflow for just an eight inch inlet. Very noisy, not for rooms where quiet is important. Best for utility rooms, basement ventilation, industial use.
