Free Shipping with 3 Pack! The Suncourt HC300 register booster fan boosts airflow to rooms that are too cold or too hot. Fits over registers up to 6" x 12". User adjustable thermostat controlled. 6' power cord included. Dimensions: 11 3/4" W X 6 1/8" H X 2 5/8 " D FAQ: What will the Equalizer EQ2 do for me? The Equalizer EQ2 is designed to be placed over a floor or wall register (6" x 12" maximum size) to boost the airflow from that register. By boosting airflow, it will warm up rooms that are chronically cold in the winter and cool down rooms that are chronically too hot in the summer. Does the Equalizer EQ2 heat or cool the air? No. The Equalizer EQ2 does neither heat nor cool the air. It boosts airflow from a register, thus bringing more heated air from your furnace or cooled air from your air conditioner into a problem room. When I hold my hand above the Equalizer EQ2, I do not feel much air. The Equalizer EQ2 has a patented fan system that disperses the air in a more or ess horizontal circular pattern. To blow air from the unit straight up to the ceiling is not desirable. Hold your hands to the sides of the air exhaust grille of the Equalizer EQ2 and you will feel the airflow. This way, the air stays at the lower room level; not the ceiling. The air coming from the Equalizer EQ2 feels cold during the winter heating season. Moving air flowing over your skin feels colder than still air. The temperature of the air is in fact the same. That "cold" sensation on you skin comes from the evaporation of the moisture on your skin caused by moving air. That is why sitting in the airflow of a fan feels good on a hot summer day. The air from that fan has the same temperature as the other surrounding air. Again, the air movement over your skin causes the chilly sensation. That is why drafts are so uncomfortable. How to I connect the Equalizer EQ2 to the power? No installation is required for the Equalizer EQ2. You simply place it over a floor register (6" x 12" maximum size) and plug it into the nearest 110 Volt wall outlet. How much electricity does an Equalizer EQ2 use? The Equalizer EQ2 uses 27 Watts when running. Like a small light bulb. Can I mount the Equalizer EQ2 on a wall register? Yes, small keyhole slots are provided in the bottom grille of the Equalizer EQ2. Depending on the size and type of wall register, you may install screws in the register or surrounding wall and simply hang the Equalizer EQ2 on those screws. In some instances, it is not possible to install screws for hanging the Equalizer EQ2 with the function panel label on the top. In this case you will need to hang it upside down. Note that the lettering on the function label will be upside down also. Does the Equalizer EQ2 have to cover a register entirely? Yes. The Equalizer EQ2 must cover a register grille opening entirely. The Equalizer EQ2 is designed to create a slight vacuum at the register, thus pull air from the duct. You do not want to pull in room air. How do I turn the Equalizer OFF and ON? Your Equalizer EQ2 is equipped with a highly sensitive electronic thermostat. This thermostat will automatically turn the fan ON when it senses heated air after the furnace starts. Similarly, it will turn the fan ON when your air conditioner starts. This operation is fully automatic and you have a control on the function panel to fine tune when you wish the Equalizer EQ2 to start and stop. Can I run my Equalizer EQ2 continuously? Yes. On the function control panel you will find a switch setting "HEAT" for automatic operation with you furnace in the winter and "COOL" for automatic operation in the summertime with your air conditioner. The "ON" setting provides continuous operation. Why do the instructions say, "unplug when not in use?" We recommend that you unplug the Equalizer EQ2 between seasons when neither the furnace nor air conditioner is operating, during vacations when you are away from home, etc. This will save wear and tear and unnecessary energy use. Can I mount the Equalizer EQ2 over a ceiling register? Suncourt recommends against mounting an Equalizer EQ2 over a ceiling register for safety concerns in the event the unit would fall down if not properly attached. Also, since the airflow is exhausted in a circular pattern, the boosted warm air will remain at the ceiling. Can I use the Equalizer EQ2 upside down? The Equalizer EQ2 will operate in any position. Can I use the Equalizer EQ2 to vent outside air? No. The Equalizer EQ2 is not approved to vent outside air (such as in a window) where the unit may become wet from rain or excessive moisture. Is the Equalizer EQ2 safe? The Equalizer EQ2 has been rigorously tested to the Standards of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL®) for your safety. The housing is made of a high impact flame retardant ABS material and the electric motor is Thermally Protected. The fan impeller is made out of Polycarbonate material, the material used for jet fighter canopies. How do I clean my Equalizer EQ2? Generally, maintaining a clean household and regularly replacing the central air system filter will avoid build-up of dirt and dust in the Equalizer EQ2. The Equalizer EQ2 cannot be opened for cleaning. Doing so would void the warranty and poses a risk of injury. Normally, accumulated dust can be blown out of the unit and dirt can be removed using a small brush or cotton swabs.

Comments about Suncourt Suncourt -- 3 Pack Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster (HC300):

Installed three of these upstairs in bedrooms. A bit noisey to run in a sleeping area but did change the temp by 5 degrees. Not much change but to go from 80 degrees to 75 degree will make for a big change in comfort. One big drawback is adjusting the thing to turn on and off automatically. It is a pain to adjust and it is noisey. Install is easy, just plug it in and set it on the register.

Comments about Suncourt Suncourt -- 3 Pack Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster (HC300):

These fans are working out well, balancing a couple of "weak" rooms. They're most useful in the early morning, coming on just after a setback thermostat starts the heat. Combined with timers, they can be used to customize when and where the airflow goes.

They're great for an interim fix and simultaneous diagnostic (we'll probably put in-duct boosters in later). These units are a bit noisy for bedroom or low noise-level use. However, once they've been replaced with in-duct units, they'll be moved to the basement, to boost the air there when we need it.

The only real complaint is the mounting system. It would be great if these things had keyhole slots that worked from top and bottom. I had to customize things a bit.

All in all, a good fix.

I love this booster! We have them in our kids rooms upstairs, where the AC doesn't easily flow. They are quiet enough not to disturb their sleep and so easy to operate. One is on a floor vent and the other is on a wall vent and they were both so easy to set up!! LOve them!!

If the fan housing on this product was better designed it would be great. Currently there is no enclosure around the fan blades and very little air is pushed through the vents. This is an example of terrible engineering.

A very simple but very effective register fan that works well in smaller rooms (up to 200 sg. ft). It is a little noisy - but not more so than a regular fan.

Comments about Suncourt Suncourt -- 3 Pack Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster (HC300):

I HAVE BEEN USING REGULAR ROOM FANS TO TRY AND HELP MOVE THE AIR IN THE ROOMS THAT NEVER SEEM TO COOL DOWN. THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A EXTREMELY NOTICEABLE 5-10 DEGREE DIFFERENCE FROM THE BACK OF MY HOUSE TO THE FAMILY ROOM/KITCHEN (GREAT ROOM), SO I PLACED TWO OF THEM IN THERE AND ONE AT THE MIDWAY POINT OF MY HOME HOPING TO HELP PULL MORE COOL AIR TO THE FRONT. I PLACED A THERMOMETER IN THE BACK OF THE HOUSE, MIDWAY AND IN THE GREAT ROOM PRIOR TO USING THE BOOSTER FANS FOR TWO DAYS. THEN ON THE THIRD DAY I USED THE FANS. THERE WAS A 12 DEGREE DECREASE IN TEMPERATURE IN THE GREAT ROOM, IT WAS WONDERFUL !!!!!!!!! FINALLY MAKING IT BEARABLE TO STAY IN FOR AN EVENING OF VIDEOS, FAMILYTIME, FRIENDS ETC., VERY IMPRESSIVE ! THE USE OF MY OWN VERSION OF THE BOOSTER FAN (SMALL TURBO ROOM FANS)WORKED AS WELL, BUT THE VACCUUM EFFECT THAT THE BOOSTER FANS PRODUCE (SINCE IT COVERS THE WHOLE VENT), MAKES IT SO MUCH MORE EFFICIENT. COULD BE A TAD MORE POWERFUL THOUGH. I ONLY WISH I HAD DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT MYSELF, IN THE WAY OF INVENTION THA IS. THEN I WOULDN'T BE THE ONE WRITING THE REVIEW, I WOULD BE ASKING FOR ONE AS WELL AS YOUR MONEY TOO !!!! HA HA HA

Comments about Suncourt Suncourt -- 3 Pack Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster (HC300):

Very impressed with how well this works, better than I was expecting. We have a home with forced air heat to which we added Air Conditioning. The problem we've always had is with the AC and trying to keep the upstairs cool. The downstairs would be nice and cool, but the upstairs was always about 10 degrees warmer because the vents are in the floor so the cool air never rises, it just stays on the floor and eventually falls down the stairs. Trying to cool the upstairs usually meant keeping the downstairs so cold you'd want to wear a sweater in July.

I bought a 3-pack of these boosters for our upstairs bedrooms and noticed a difference immediately. The first day we used them there was less than 2 degrees difference between upstairs and downstairs, when previously it was usually about 10 degrees. The auto-start feature was simple to setup, and works flawlessly. We've only used these with AC, heating has never been a problem so I can't comment on that.

The fan is audible, not really loud, definitely quieter than a room fan, but not silent either. You'll hear it, but I doubt it would be enough to keep most people from falling asleep unless you are super sensitive to noise.

I'd recommend these to anyone who has floor vents upstairs and trouble keeping those rooms cool with your AC. I actually have two other vents upstairs that I'd like to use these with so I'm going to buy a couple more.

There is a very slight improvement in air flow. The unit is made with cheap plastics and the variable resistor used for setting the cut on point is easily broken. Would not buy again.

Comments about Suncourt Suncourt -- 3 Pack Equalizer EQ2 Register Booster (HC300):

I use this product to pull heat from the basement where my pellet stove is. I cut register holes in the floors and set these on top. They definitely work to pull the heat up. They come close to what I expected them to do, so I'm pretty happy with them.
