The Soler & Palau TD series of inline duct fans have been specially designed to maximize the airflow performance with minimal noise levels within the smallest and most compact of housing sizes. All models are include a "removable body" feature that enables the motor-impellor assembly to be completely removed or replaced without the need to interfere with attached ducting. All models incorporate a powerful mixed flow impeller and internal air vanes located at the discharge end of the fan housing. This impeller and guide vane combination provides smooth laminar air flow which in term minimizes turbulence and noise, and generates and excellent air flow to pressure performance ratio. All TD models include speed controllable, 2-speed motor with permanently lubricated ball bearings. The fan is being used to remove heat from a home theater equipment alcove to the attic. The HT equipment (A/V rcvr, STB, DVD, BU PS, and Power Conditioner dissipate well over 1KW heat into the room. The intake grill is installed into the top of the alcove and the fan is mounted 12' away, connected to the intake by normal 6" insulated AC ducting. The fan is powered by the switched outlet on the AV rcvr and comes on when the rcvr is powered on.
The two speed fan is very efficient, removing enough air on the low speed, and is virtually noiseless; a key factor in a HT environment.
I am 100% satisfied with this product. The fan is well designed, easy to mount, wire, and install.
