Comments about Fantech Fantech FH 20 Dehumidistat:

We are using this device to control a fan to circulate air near a peak in a high ceiling, where humidity builds up on sunny days. We would like to be able to control the difference between the humidity where the device switches on (say 52%) and the humidity where the device switches off (which seems to be about 8 % lower). We are having trouble getting the fan operating enough to solve the humidity buildup but not have it run continuously. This is a unique problem and probably not what the device was designed to do, but is the reason for our lukewarm review of the product. Other than that, it seems to work as advertised.

I was able to mount the switch internals inside the exhaust fan enclosure just behind the intake grill. so, I had to make a new label to attach to the switch to indicate knob position,

Comments about Fantech Fantech FH 20 Dehumidistat:

I purchased this to replace a humidistat in a 15yr old Fridgidaire dehumidifier. It turns out to be the exact replacement part. Easy to install and much more accurate than the old one that it replaced. I am thinking of buying an additional one for a bathroom exhaust fan.

Comments about Fantech Fantech FH 20 Dehumidistat:

Automatically runs the bathroom exhaust fan when taking a shower (or bath). Using two switches I have manual or automatic function without touching the dehumidistat dial. It may need a few adjustments at first to avoid false starts and possibly seasonally, but so far (one month) it works reliably.

Comments about Fantech Fantech FH 20 Dehumidistat:

This dehumidistat cost me[$], which was a lot less than a new dehumidifier. It was a simple install; I basically cut a heavy-duty extension cord and installed the unit in a plastic outlet box, which I mounted on the surface of the wall behind the dehumidifier. The FH20 works fine, but at first I found the humidifier to be running too much, so I checked the humidity in the room (with an accurate hygrometer) and found that the room was at 32%, the FH20 was set to 50%, and the dehumidifier was still running.Pulling the cover off of the FH20, I found the usual calibration screw, so I tweaked it until the dehumidifier would shut off close to the actual humidity reading.Since that adjustment, the FH20 has been very accurate.I would recommend the FH20, but advise the installer that he/she might have to tweak the calibration screw. You should check it with an accurate hygrometer during installation.

Comments about Fantech Fantech FH 20 Dehumidistat:

This dehumidistat works great. I did not mount it on the wall, however. In order for the fan to turn immediately without waiting for the humidity to come down to the level where the dehumistat switch would be mounted on the wall, I took the switch out from the enclosure and mounted it inside our bathroom ceiling fan.

Comments about Fantech Fantech FH 20 Dehumidistat:

My dehumidifier humidistat went out and I was going to rig this unit up with a recepticle so that I could make my dehumidifier cycle as needed. It turned out that the components of this wall mount unit were the same as the dehumidistat in my dehumidifier. I swapped them and it worked great.
