Used with the Broan-Nutone QXT110 fan with the heater and it works well. The only problem is the flange that connects to the exhaust duct is a little short. If it was an inch or two longer, the vent would be perfect.

The vent came a little bent and the damper did not work but with a few minute and tweaking the sheet metal it was perfect. Installed easier then I was anticipating, as this was the first one i have installed. Wished there was a cheaper stainless steel version or on aluminum one so it does not rush. Paint seemed like it should hold up well over time.

This is one of the only vents you should use for a roof vented fan. Do not use plastic vents designed for dryers.

Good Roof cap that was easy to install but attaching the duct to the flange was tricky because the flange is so short. If they had made the flange an inch or two longer it would have been a breeze to install.

Roof cap is well made with a very good back draft damper and bird screen. BUT, for existing roof applications - The duct attachment collar is only about 1" long and does not protrude through the roof sheeting. It's almost imposable to attach an insulated flex duct after installing on the roof. I would suggest anyone buying this also buy a 6" dia. collar extension and secure it to the cap's collar BEFORE installation to the roof. Don't make the extension any longer than necessary. BROAN needs to add a collar extension to correct this. I would then rate it 5 stars.

I have a low pitch roof and was searching for a kitchen exhaust roof cap that angled down as much as possible to prevent driving rain from entering the vent. I installed the cap on a Friday and we got hit with a blizzard on Saturday. I had the ceiling open so I was able to watch it for 4 days and all was well. I did tape a 1" electrical box knockout slug to the flap cap as a prior reviewer suggested as I too thought it too easy to open. The exhaust fan is installed and running venting well. Broan knocks out a nice decent gauge piece of sheet metal. The Home Cheapo or Blowes stores only carry cheap flashing gauge vents that would require an equal amount of aluminum tape to keep them water tight.

The large flange was fine to slide up under the shingles and drop into hole. But the round flange that you connect the vent to was a bit short to get a strap on and there was no ridge to hold it once on. I had to use tape to keep the vent duct on it. I would look for better options next time but I was drawn by the black finished color.

Overall appears to be well made and sturdy. The bird screen was not fastened and could easily be knocked out. I placed a couple drops of roof cement on it to keep in place. Like the other reviewers stated the collar is a bit short. I attached an ajdustable elbow by screwing it on, then had plenty of room to slide on the vent tube.

The design is nice and it looks nice. The only down side is the collar to which the vent hose attaches needs to be longer and have something that helps hold the vent hose to it. When I was installing the vent hose it kept slipping off. I needed to use more than just clamps to hold the hose on it. I used screws and metal pipe.
