The inlet size does not really fit anything, so you have to adapt it. The picture looks industrial but the actual installed product would be fine on any house. It has a "Too big" look, but its not. - From now on, its the only thing I will use.

The reviews I read led me to believe it was HUGE. I needed it none the less and ordered it right up. Upon its arrival, I realized its the perfect size. If I wanted to paint it I would have had to do some primer work, which I did not have time to do. It looks just fine the way it is. I assume it will flatten out its shiny appearance soon enough.

Way better than anything at the store. Backdraft damper nice and light, opens fully with dryer running. Easily installed, huge flashing. I did caulk the seams on the uphill side, they looked like they would let water in. Wonder why the pipe connection is oversize, you can't clamp down on a 4" galvanized duct. Had to settle for metal tape, and put the compression clamp just for show. Otherwise excellent!

This was easy to install, took about an hour to do. Works great, old vent always clogged up with lint, after using for a few weeks there is no sign of lint collecting in vent pipe or cap. I painted it before installing so it would blend in with roof. It's so nice to not have to go up on roof and clean vent cap out like I did with the previous cap. Will never use another kind again.

I just installed this product on my house. Could not find anything suitable at [...] and so found this on on-line. One tip--if you plan to paint it, read up on how to paint galvanized steel. Do NOT use spray paint, or even a spray primer directly on the galavanized steel, it will peel and bubble. I used a special primer (applied with a brush) made just for aluminum and galvanized steel, found it at [...] (made by Rustoleum). Then I painted over the primer with a regular black spray paint. Looks great, highly recommended.

Vent is being used for dryer roof exhaust, the pipevent was about 4.5" inches instead of 4" inches, so there was not a good fit/seal into the piping in the attic, had to tape to seal it. My husband installed it, had to use one new piece of roofing to get it to fit/blend properly into the roof. It vents great, my dryer doesn't get hot now. It was a shiny steal, we spray painted it a dark brown to blend in with the roof, looks great. Works MUCH better then the other thing that was installed on the roof.

It is not painted, and the shiny galvanized metal would be mis-placed on a dark roof. No problem to prime and paint to match my other fixtures.

I got this vent because it looked more solid than the ones I could find in local stores. I'm not good at heights, so I had a local contractor install it for me. He commented that it looked heavy-duty. It took him about 45 minutes from the time he put up his ladder until I handed him $40, money well-spent from my point of view. The only odd thing is that the flange going through the roof is bigger than a standard 4" vent pipe. I ran caulk around the inside of the joint and used metal tape to wrap the seam. It's working great. The only reason I didn't give the vent 5 stars is because it's pretty industrial looking for a house. 4 1/2 starts would be closer.

Panasonic bathroom fan suggests using a dryer type roof vent.
Well made unit with clean, tight joints and sealed duct adapter. flap has rear piano hinge w/o any counterbalance weight, about 1/8" gap on sides and no gasketed seat on lower edge. Requires strong CFM to lift flap adequately to vent.

I needed to wrap duct tape around the elbow pipe I inserted into the roof cap because it was too large in diameter for the 4 inch pipe to seat tight. Air flow is strong out of the cap. My vertical length of piping to the roof is 9-10 feet.

I live in a house built on a cement slab and the dryer hook up is near the center of the house which is fairly far away from outside walls. This product allowed me to have a dryer vent run of approximately 12 feet instead of about 25 feet.

This product is clearly the best option for roof venting a dryer. By roof venting, I was able to keep the length of duct to a minimum, maximizing dryer efficiency. Also, the outlet of a dryer vent should never be located in a vented soffit, as convection will draw the moist air from the dryer vent into the attic space.

There is a flapper in the cap to prevent entrance of cold air and insects. The unit is well galvanized which should prevent rusting for many years. My only complaint is that the vent connection is approximately 4 3/16" ID, which required several wraps of duct tape over the male end of the vent pipe to provide a snug fit into the female inlet of the cap.

Ok, I go running around the neighborhood and look through all the homebuilder stores and what do I find? Dryer vents with what seems to me "heavy door flaps". I want a dryer vent that has a light, easy opening door that will allow the air and lint to exit the vent pipe. This was not available here in my town. Alas, I found it here!

After visiting all of the supply house in the city we live in, I decided to go on line to look for a dryer vent to fit on the roof. I was surprised when I seen this vent as it was exactly what I was looking for. The price was reasonable so we decided to order it. After recieving the vent it has been as good or better than expected. Will buy from this company again as needed.

I used the product as a roof vent, by adding a clean out door on top I can clean lint twice a year. Other vents I could not use due to light weight construction.

I used this to vent my dryer through a 12/12 pitch roof and it worked great. If you know how to roof, this can be installed in an hour. The only con is that the 4" duct that goes inside the house is a little short - it won't make it past your rafters, so buy a 4" round duct at [...] and cut 12" off and it will make the dryer ductwork easy to connect to.

The higher profile is what I needed due to snow levels on the roof in the winter. Some people may not like the higher height of the duct. I also added a screen and painted it to match the roof shingles. Installation was very easy, just cut a 4 1/8" hole,seal and fasten down with screws. The roof was being reshingled so the installation has a very clean look. This vent hood was what I needed for my remodeled bathroom venting needs. the interior duct lenght was 35 inches to the vent fan. Excellent venting capability for my needs.

This was used to replace a traditional vent with a grill which constantly got blocked.

Over the years we have used the best dryer vents we could find..wall or roof types. I just put this one on my own house. WOW!!!! I was able to shorten the length of the vent pipe run and go right up through the roof from the dryer. The size of the hood itself is awsome and the hood actually has a flapper and a moisture slot at the bottom. We have a Whirlpool Duet front loader dryer and have really noticed a hugh savings in drying time. Most of all the hood lets all the lint out and away so no chance of a interior fire. This is the BEST product I have ever used and will be using it on all our future jobs. The price for this product is worth every cent.
